So I am a huge basketball player and Golf fanatic do you think it's worth bringing down my golf clubs if i plan on playing lots of rounds while i am there? Or do you think it will just be a hassle to store them? And I know there's a basketball court somewhere so should i bring my own basketball????
Isn't it easier to just by a basketball for when you're there so it won't take so much room in your luggage? I'm sure there's a basketballcourt at Mickeys Retreat. Golf clubs are probably more expensieve (I don't know much about this), so in that case you should bring them... Depends on how long you're staying though and what program you're on... I know it shouldn't be a problem to store them in the Commons at least...
Check the airline restrictions on what counts as pieces of baggage re: the golf clubs though- you'll probably buy a lot of stuff while you're out there and will almost definitely need two suitcases to bring it back (I need two just for the summer programme), so you wouldn't want to be stuck with three check-in bags
You will get a discount on the 3 golf courses within the 'world' however Im sure if the tee time is fully booked staff reservations are the first ones that will be cancelled.
O yeah I know all about having t-times cancelled considering i work at a golf course 4 months a year. As for luggage restrictions I am driving down there so i don't have to worry about it. I just can't see myself not taking in some rounds of golf when I am there.
im geussing there is no cricket pitches or afl grounds there *shucks* lol can you rent clubs from the courses? i know the courses i play charge around $10 AU for a basic set of clubs which are old but in this case would save you lugging a golf bag to the otherside of the globe
I wish we played AFL in North America. Such a good game. SO much better than North American Football. Although I really dont understand the excite ment of Golf. Someone please explain!
my excitement in part stems from the fact that my grand parents own a golf course. I think I love golf so much is because golfing with my friends is usually a GONG show. It's a great mind game and stress release. I'm going to say the best part of golf would have to be the beer cart.
Ok well that all makes sence. Beer, Good, Driving golf cart good So I guess incombination Would be excellent. Grin. And hanging out with friends and it becoming a gong show is also good. SO I see bonuses now. thank you.
hello there, i was just wondering if there is much football/soccer played as if not i don't know what i will do with out playing for a whole year. Sean
afl is the game - there is alf leauges in the us run expats i think, if not i think if i make the 3 month summer program i will form a disney team and find a league to play in lol shotty full foward lol yer as an aussie im honestly a bit disapointed cos the US sport is totally different to aussie sports really bar golf cos basketball has no following out here really and baseball even less and gridiron even less than baseball! dunt even mention hockey cos melbourne has ONE, yes just 1, ice rink lol.... tho i reckon an ashes test would be interesting aussies v poms lol
As for archery I am sure there is a place that you can give a go at it... That's one thing I will miss when in Florida not having an ice rink every couple of blocks in the winter... But I will not miss the winter and it's -47 degree weather we have been having lately...
