hey Anyone remember any embarrassing moments? I was doing the tree lighting in Dec 03 and as I got of the bus following Mickey, I missed the last step and fell on my ASS! This of course was infront of about 200 hundred people!oh dear. Any one got any similar stories? Dan the scuzz man!
I once feel asleep in the podium in the Canada attraction during the movie. A guest came over with her daughter to ask where the bathroom was...and she had to WAKE me up...I was devastated.... :-[
I smashed a bunch of dirty plates on a woman. After that it fell on the stone floor so loud, even the last guest in the farest corner could hear it... 8) That was embarassing :-[ ;D
One of many was the night that I was food running and was carrying 3 grilled prawn appertizers to a table. Anyone who has been to the Rose and Crown knows that there are steps down to lower deck, and if you've ever ordered the prawns you know that they take about 30 minutes to cook and come out on these rectangular plates. For some unknown reason I decided not only to miss the steps but to actually slide down them on my butt. The prawns flew off the plates and hit the floor. The plates however I managed to keep hold of, and I was laughing so much that Rab had to shake me to check I was ok. It didn't help that I was only going to the table to the right of the steps - 702, and that everyone on lower deck noticed. After appologising to the table and heading back in to the kitchen to order another lot of them, I did eventually stop laughing but managed to get a round of applause when I took the appertisers down to the table of everyone on lower deck. I don't think I've died so much in my life! :-[
I knocked over one of those plate trolleys behind the German buffet TWICE - it's amazing that only about 30 plates or so actually broke. There was some kind of risen tile back there I managed to hit all the time - and sometimes it was just too much for that poor trolley. I actually I didn't feel embarassed at all, because it happened a few days later to someone else, so I knew it wasn't just me. But you could also hear it all over the restaurant - imagine 100 plates getting knocked over at once. Ah, and on one of my first evenings in- Sommerfest, I bent down and my fabulous Pseudo-Lederhosen split right apart at my backside. No guests were around anymore, but it was kind of embarassing too, especially having to make my way back that evening. I swear to date that it was just another case of a job poorly done by costuming and not of my oversized derrière...
I don't remember any "special" moments...I remember having to take part of my costume back because a kid spat on me.
