Hi, I have recently found out about the Disney college programes and im really interested. However there are a few things im confused over; ??? could I work for just my summer break (3-4months) and if so when should I apply im thinking about next summer (2007) thanks ps. sorry if these questions seem silly but I was confused and thought I should just ask.
Hey, Yip you can just work for the summer as long as you are on a 4 year degree course at uni. Not sure when you can start applying but I applied last August, for working this summer, which I think was quite early, then the phone interviews were in October (I think! Cant really remember!) and the face to face interview was in November. There is a second lot of interviews in March I think though 'cos they are on about now I think, so you could wait 'till then. So basically, for working summer 2007 I would say apply from about August this year! Hope this helps! Fiona xxx
the college programme is JUST for the summer break, theres no other way to do it as far as i know.. to be eligible u have to be returning to education after ur summer in disney, so if u are hoping to go in summer 2007, u MUST be returning to college or uni in autumn of 2007 i guess if ur hoping to go next summer, the best time to apply would be the end of the year? i dunno about that one really
hiya disney i'm currently on my gap year and will be starting uni in september so, also hoping to do disney college programme in 2007 to. you can apply anytime fom about aug onwards, as the interview are around novermber and march time so the sooner the better so long as ur on a degree level course and will be returning to the same degree when u get back from disney. Actually, there is now a year long college program similar to the US college program... But I know little or nothing about it or it's availability... Sorry! KC
Indeed. It's called the J1 Academic Program. To be eligible, you must either be a current uni student or a recent (within one year) graduate. Ona x
But note that the details for it, which were published on the WDW Careers website recently, have now been removed. I don't know if anything can/should be read into that...

Yeah I wanted more info. so I contacted our WDWIP PA here in the UK (Yummy Jobs) and they filled me in. Perhaps try contacting the regular Disney PA in your country and see if you get any response that way. :-\ Ona x

When/where are they interviewing you Ona? And do you know the start dates it's for yet? I'm really wanting to e-mail them about coming along, but thinking it's a little early for summer 2007 onwards...
Andy, I still don't have any more specific info about the program. Email Jason and ask if you can go along for the presentation at least. Does anyone know if the J1 Academic program is only for the UK? as in, can you do it if you're canadian?
