    Hallo,

I would like to work a year at Disney starting 2007 in the summer. There are some questions I would like to ask:

    1) Is it possiple for an Anstrian to do this?
    2) When should I apply?

    Thanks,
    Marie

1: I'm not sure whether you're Austrian or Australian... However, I'd say no, but possibly yes. Neither Austria nor Australia are represented at Epcot's World Showcase or Animal Kingdom. That means that you are not eligible to participate in the Cultural Representative Program. On the other side, there is a pilot program in progress at the moment which involves a year long version of the International College Program. You work 6 days a week and have classes on the 7th. As it's only the pilot program running at the moment, I've no idea whether it will be continued for another year.

That all being said, if you'd like to work at Disney for a summer, I think I've heard of both Austrians and Australians being eligible for the summer-long International College program, in which case you could well apply.

2: There's really no set time to apply, but I think interviews are held in November and in March, so you may want to apply some time before possible interviews to ensure that interview positions have not already filled up.

If you do decide to apply-or even to get further info, try www.wdwcareers.com and click on "International" where you'll find more info and where to apply for your area.

    Good luck!

Hey is that right about the year long program- you work 6 days a week and class on the 7th so no days off at all?!
Is this the one for collge graduates coz I've applied for that program but didnt realize Id never get any free time!! :-\

That's how it's ended up for Lou right now, but it's not an 'ordinary' six days a week. The number of days you work is solely dependent on business needs in your area of operation! Also, the classes aren't full day classes, afaik.

    Bring it on. ::) ;D Lol. ;D

Nina, are you going to the interviews this month? If so, you're the first person on here(other than myself ::) ;D ) that I know of, interviewing for the academic program this time around.

So so true.... I'm not supposed to work 6 days or over 45 hours whilst I'm taking classes. If I don't have classes they can schedule me for however long they want, regardless of my being a CP. However my scheduler obviously thinks I'm a working machine and has scheduled me for 54 hours this week...nice overtime but I'm currently dead :(

    Hallo,

    Thanks for answering my questions.

I am from Austria, I know there isn't an Austrian Showcase in the Epcot park. But, would it be possible to work at the German Showcase. I am not a German citizen, but we also speak German in Austria and it is about the same. Or would it be possible to just work somewhere else?

I hope you can help me,
    Thanks,
    Marie

To qualify for this program, you must authentically represent one of the countries or regions recreated in look and feel at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Countries currently represented include:
    Brazil
    Botswana
    Canada
    China
    France
    Germany
    India
    Indonesia
    Italy
    Japan
    Lesotho
    Mexico
    Morocco
    Namibia
    Nepal
    Norway
    South Africa
    Thailand
    United Kingdom
    Zimbabwe

Since you arent German by birth i dont think they will let you work in the German pavillion.

I'm not sure about any other opportunities maybe someone else can answer that question. There is the international college program. You work at Disney World Florida for 3 months in the summer but you have to be attending college/univeristy and be going back to study after the summer.

    Hope this helps a little

Without meaning to be slushy, speak from the heart: say what getting this job means to you. Also, summarise what you can offer Disney - what differentiates you from everyone else who wants the opportunity, and ultimately how you will make magic for guests.

    Hey Oona,
Long story really! I wont actually be finished my degree till May 2007 but Jason still wanted me to go to the Dublin interviews when they were on back in March but I was going away that particular week so Alexis just said she'd send me an email next time the interviews were on but dont think that'll be for ages now :-[
When are you doing your interview?
Don't think many people really know about the program yet coz its so new!

    That sounds so tiring! *hugs*
I suppose I work 7 days a week at home now so shouldnt really be a problem for me! Would you still recommend the programme?
    What are the classes like?
