I am attempting to prepare myself for an Animal Programs Professional Internship and I couldn't find any tips for interviews or anything as handy as this website, so I thought I would post a comment here and see how it goes. I really just want to know what the recruiters are looking for, what will increase my chances of getting an internship? I will be a graduate, but I can't even to a face-face interview because Disney only visits Universities and they are all really far away from where I live, so I have to do a phone interview and I don't know how that is going to go. : Oh and I am not even international, I am from Texas, but my friend is a cast member that just finished the College program internship and now is going to be a manger in Recreation for Walt Disney World, so I may be able to answer a few questions on that subject.
Hey As an American i'm not sure how much we international particpants will be able to help you, you see, (not sure about other countries, but definately in the UK) we can't apply for any of the internships as there are no visa's sponsored by Disney to get us there, we can only do the international programmes. As for general advice on the interview I would just say to show your enthusiasm for Disney and the programme you're applying for. Try and make sure you know the background about the programme etc and what to expect whilst doing it, and make a note of any particular questions you might have to ask at the end of the interview. My interview over here was in a group of three and we were basically asked the same questions in turn and the interviewer wrote out answers on separate sheets with our names on. They didn't ask anything difficult, the most important questions being why do you want to do the programme and what do you think you will gain from it! Good luck with your application and I hope someone on here will be able to help you more! xx
