Hi everyone, I was wondering if i'll get the job even if i'm cigarette smoker ??? :-\ Is it possible to smoke in the street ? I'm sure we can't smoke in the flat but i'm alright with this ( question of respect ) But i'd like to know if it's possible to have at least one break during our shift at Chefs de France . If everything is against me I'll smoke less then . Thank you all
Im pretty sure they'll let you smoke on your break somewhere. But you have time to give up smoking all together!
What???? You are not allowed to smoke??? I guess in the flat you cant because of the smoke detectors. But you can always get out of the building to smoke right??? How exactly does this policy work??? Where can you smoke, where can't you smoke???
Lol of course you can. You can smoke on the balcony, out in the street, wherever as long as it's not in the apartment.
chloe.. by balcony, you mean we can smoke in our apartments (commons), but just in the balcony? guess not in my room or the living room then... i´m such a 24/7 smoker.. kind of bad habit i know.. but im kind of worried too.. in the commons, is not allow to smoke inside the apartments, because, smoke detectors? i mean they are pretty easy to shut down hahaha.. and many of those doesn´t really turn on with cigarrett smoke... teresa
I can't speak fully as I'm not there but I would think that yes you could just by going out on the balcony. I know I would be quite annoyed if my room constantly smelled like smoke (as a non-smoker) if someone in my apt was constantly smoking inside... not meaning to offend just saying my personal opinion.
You can't smoke inside. Tampering with the smoke detectors would get you problems with the apartment company and I can't imagine your roomates being happy with everything smelling of smoke.
of course i wouldnt smoke if my roomates didnt smoke also.. it will be disrespectfull.. but its so easy to imagine everyone of my roomates smoking hahaha cuz all my friends smoke, and my family, and my roomates back in Monterrey... but hey... cigarrettes are quite expensive in USA so i better stop smoking hahaha... i promise not to smoke if my roomies dont allow me !!

hey princess tessa.... yeah when I started to read the posts I went kinda crazy! jaja. I'm not the type of person that smokes all day long, I like to smoke during parties, clubbing, etc. I'm a social smoker. And to think I wouldn't be able to smoke at all stressed me out, jaja. And I thought it might be possible because the US is very strict about non-smoking places (not like Mexico). But thanks to everyone that cleared that up for us.
lol yeah, you seemed a bit stressed But no worries there for the smoking. Smoking in the parks is allowed too, just in designated spots, but that's good news for smokers eh?
