I have that but I've never used it. Maybe I should and get my boyfriend hooked up on it too.
I'm worried that there will be too much of a delay or something.

don't worry snowwhite, skype actually doesn't have delay. in my opinion it sounds just like the phone. although you might experience delay if your internet is not broadband.

does anyone know if skype works with the internet access on the commons???

I have been using skype for a while now. I have a usb phone for it and I buy credit with my credit card. Its really chaep and works just like a phone. I also have a london number which only coasts a few bucks a month. So if you are from the UK you can get a number and your family and friends can call for the price of a national call (or local in london).

  10. okay FINE! sheeesh! :p
My mum has been bugging me to get Skype and I keep saying no because I thought it wouldn't be the same as talking on the phone, we've even had a few fights over it. LOL
But if you lot say it doesn't have a delay and that it's good, then I'll give it a go.
My mummy (and her wallet) will be thanking you guys! hehe

  15. hahaha yeah but now you could just lean over and TALK TO ME! with our VOICES..........wierd concept I know.
I think we'd have to make fake typing motions while we talked hahaha

I love that in the thread about communication Tessa and I perfectly exhibit our communication issues. We sit next to eachother in the same room and talk to eachother on MSN. Lol! I'm gonna miss that...for 2months.

No it wasn't an Earl of Sandwich sadly :'(

It was a sandwich from work, tomato and mozorella (sp?) with pesto and some kind of vinegarette.

    Nice

But now you mention it... EoS is the best.

And I was eating it at midnight because I had just got home from work :p

Skype is completely amazing. Since I've been in France I've used it for everything from ringing my boyfriend to sorting out my UK student loan (FYI, you can put money on your Skype account so you can make calls to actual landlines and mobiles. To landlines it's about 1p/min and 10p/min to mobiles - but almost ANYWHERE in the world!! Oh, and 0800 numbers are still free :D) to trying to book a haircut in France. It has saved me an absolute fortune and IF I get the job it's coming with me to the States!

Think they've added webcam support now too ;D

That's cool about the landlines and mobiles, TDG. I still think that wlth my long distance plans I have no use for it, but I'll give it a try anyway..might end up coming in handy when I least expect it.
