I got a question that might sound a little selfish or superficial but i have to ask. Do I have a chance at getting hired if I have eczema? I have patches on my face and arms, and they choose now to attack. So does anyone know how picky Disney is about skin? Or does anyone know what I can try to get rid of it, lol it is so itchy that I will be the one arm, half face girl at the interview. OK thanks for putting up with my question.
Hey I don't know what i can say on Disney (however i no now they can't descriminate someone just over there looks) but i have the same problems on my hands arms and feet and i know how painful it is....But don't worrie they will be looking at your qualifications and personality not your skin hope that helps, whens your interview? ;D
it is ILLEGAL for them to discriminate against this kind of thing. You'll be fine! Hope that makes you feel better x x
It's illegal in the UK. You forget that you're not interviewing for a UK job though. Employment rights in America are very very different. My advice to the OP is to try and treat it as you usually would, try your best to calm it down before the interview. If all else fails, just explain to your interviewer that it doesn't come up very often, and in this case is just a reaction to interview nerves, or something. If it does flare up quite a lot, then I'm not sure. Just be honest, and ask your GP for a quick-acting treatment.
Thanks guys, the good news is that it almost always goes away when I go to humid climates. From what my doctor said it is mainly just from the Canadian weather, but a little may be from a gluten allergy which I am getting checked for this week. Thanks for your guys advice. My interview is on march 6th so hopefully I will know 100% what causes it and can treat it by then.
This is true, however, there's quite a lot of discrimination laws in the US, and Disney is an equal opportunities employer. I doubt having skin problems will affect your application. You can't help heaving this problem. x x x
I don't think you have to worry. It is illegal to discriminate people just of their look, even in the US (pretty sure). Also Disney have strict rules to not discriminate looks too.
Hey! I know I'm a little late getting to this but I was wondering the same thing! I have psoriasis, but hopefully it won't be an issue for the Disney people.
