I think you should wait so that you'll be 21 when you get there, makes a lot of things less stressful. I went when I was 19, but I was absolutely certain I wanted to go at that time. If you're not sure, I think you should wait.
well, its up to you when you go, but the interviews for the UK are in November and i think its Feburary. So if you did want to go straight after you leave college then apply, and if you got through you would be at the feb interviews as you have to 18 to do the face to face interview. The feb interviews are for people who would leave in sep - dec. Its up to you, apply when you are certain this is want you want. Im applying now, as i feel, in 3 years time i may have a full time job and not want to leave that, but there are lot of people of all different ages ranging from 18 - 30 + so you do have time. What i do know is that i will reapply if i don't go through, and keep reapplying until i get in!
hiya i also applied 1st time when i was 17 but didn't get in so now i'm waiting till after uni, you decide what u want but now i feel upset i didn't get in but i say hay when i go i'll be 23 so legal to drink and one less worry just go with wot u feel is best..... follow ya heart
I waited until I was finished school and over 21. Being legal makes life a lot simpler. It's nice to be done school and not have to think about going back when you were done. I know a lot of people that didn't want to go back, but had too. It was nice to have the freedom to do whatever I wanted after...to travel, to do nothing, whatever. I did have to leave a great full-time job, but this was what I had always wanted so it was a no-brainer really. You have to be prepared for that. There were lots of 24 turning 25 year olds like me when I was there. Go 1979!!! But there were also a whole load of 18 year olds! Everyone that arrived near the end of my contract seemed to be 18!!!
