Hello everyone,

I understand it may take a while before some people start posting here, but I wanted to try it, hopefully there is already people who is being selected to join any of the programs starting September 2010.

My name is Medardo, I am from Mexico, and I will be joining the Disney's Guest Relations team starting Sept 7th, 2010, I can't wait to meet you all.

I've been selected to GR program 2010/2011 but my program starts in April 20th.
I know another brazilian GR who will starts there in Sep 7th too. Her name is Luciana.

I'm looking foward to begin this second experience at WDW soon.

thanks for opening this thread! I'm Jenny from Italy and I'll also be joining the Guest Relations team on September 2. I'm very excited about it, even though it's still such a long time away. I too am a former Disney CM: I worked as a Merchandise Hostess at the Italy pavilion in Epcot from May 2003 to May 2004.

Yeeeiiii, I am so excited that finally Guest Relations people is showing up.

Felipe, where are you from? What was your first experience at disney? At the beginning I was selected to start on April the 20th as well, but I have a contract with another company that ends in September, so requested by start date to change and it was approved by the international recruitment team, so, so far I understand I will be starting on Sep the 7th.

Jenny, how are you? So we will be arriving almost at the same time uh, that is so cool!. So, how was your experience at the italian pavillion? SInce you finished you haven't come back to disney at all? My first experience was at the mexico pavillion, I did food and beverage, it was from Feb 06 to Feb 07. Then I came back from January to July 2008 in a college program, I did concierge and front desk at the Disney's Port Orleans Resort, they both were great experiences and I am looking forward to enjoy the 3rd one, I can't wait.

So, where do you like to work guys? Which park? Even if Magic Kingdom is the busiest one, I think I want to work there, and I have a feeling that I will work there, lol. BUt if I could sort my preferences they will be: 1- MK 2 - Hollywood Studios 3 - Animal Kingdom 4 - Epcot 5 -Downtown Disney. DOn't get me wrong, I love Epcot, but I worked there already, so I prefer to gain experience in a different location.

Hi again and thanks for the warm welcome Medardo! I have a feeling social networks are sort of starting to take over and forums such as this one are often considered obsolete. I still hope more GR people will show up though!

I probably sound repetitive but my year as a Merch hostess at the Italy pavilion was great! I had a lot of fun at work, loved having access to all the parks and enjoyed life at the Commons. Well,...I just hope I'll end up in a smaller apartment this year! 8 girls, that one fridge and relatively small kitchen... that was torture!
I haven't been in Orlando since the end of my contract in 2004. I moved to the Netherlands for university after that and when I graduaded I thought it'd be nice to stay home for a while. It didn't last long though and here I am now!
Just like you, I've already worked at Epcot so I'd like to change park: MGM is at the top of my list (I fell in love with Fantasmic!), MK - AK -EPCOT-DOWNTOWN DISNEY follow.

The other day I found myself thinking about the GR people I knew at the Commons when I lived there...and I recall they often had different shift hours than merch or f&b did. I'm curious: do you guys have any idea about the shifts?

I did apply for a Guest Relation position... maybe one or two weeks ago... but no answer yet...
I was a German Cast Member and worked @ EPCOT (Merchandise) 06/2007 - 07/2008. I really wanna do the Guest Relation position asap... Did u guys have an f2f or a telephone interview? Or both?

Anything u wanna share, that could me help to get one of the positions?

Hi Birgit!

As far as Italy is concerned and both for merchandise and GR (not sure about F&B), candidates simply send out their CVs to International Services. They carry out a first scrutiny and if they think you could be fit for the job (and experience) they send out invitations to the interview (directly with American WDW recruiters) in Milan.
So no real phone interviews, I simply received a call from International Services before the actual invitation arrived asking me if I had visible tatoos and other practical things related to the Disney look. That was it.

I can tell you having worked at WDW before is a major boost during selection and Italians selected for GR have all worked in a Disney park before.
The best part of that day was the presentation... they have this video for those who approach WDW for the first time showing what working at Epcot looks like, what living in the Commons looks like, the services you got and so on.... the video was obviously shot and edited so that the whole experience would look super appealing to anybody. I've never seen a swimming pool at the Commons as crowded as the one in the video (i had to hold back the laughter), plus it must have been shot in 2004 because I know half the cast members they feature. It was hilarious!

Anyway, remember to breathe and relax - the recruiters are Disney CMs after all. So smile and be yourself, you already were part of the Disney family so there's no reason why you couldn't be again.
One last thing, don't forget to bring along all the documents requested (background check, passport photocopies, photos...) and dress formal as they request.

I have a question to all of you who applied for guest relations this year: Do you know when was the application deadline??? Did you all get a reply or an interview date yet??? I applied 1,5 weeks ago and I guess that was too late for this round, was it??

Hey Lisa,

there was no special Deadline for a Guest Relation application. The interview for the german CRP was on 19/ 20th of March in Bonn and Cologne for Departure Dates between July 2010 and December 2010. So you might have been too late for this round. But I heard from a german girl who was hired without a personal interview. So I guess u just have to wait. It seems that International Services is back in the office since Monday as they were recruiting in Germany and Italy last week and none of us has gotten an email since then. If u have not received an email by friday I would suggest to contact Corinne from IS. Do you have her number?

I called IS twice already. The first time was on march 19th and someone told me to send an application. I did it on the same day. Then I called again on march 26th and they told me that I was too late. Crazy. I actually contacted International Recruiting in orlando after that and they told me to send an application but I havent heard of them since monday....
No I dont have Corinnes number? Does it make sense to call? Then I would be glad if you give me the number!!

Sorry, I don´t know the name of the girl .. but I think it was during the last selection time. Go ask Holla in the German Discussion Forum .. it was one of her friends. I guess it always depends on how urgent they need people. Due to the fact that u have done the program already.. you might have a chance .. ;D
