This program is the Cultural Representative Program, where you spend a year working in either Food & Beverage or Merchandise, in your countries pavilion, in the case the UK. Competition is high for the program, they are recruiting people who are interested in careers in Hospitality not animals, the UK recruiting agency is Yummy Jobs -- Check out there website for more details.

If you check out the Disney Careers site, they have some internships to work with the animals, but you usually need a Zoology/Biology degree -- Do you have one? Also I'm not sure if these internships are open to anyone not inside the USA. You would need to email Disney and ask.

    Keep us updated.......

Hi no i don't have any zoology degree, so you said it might not be open to people outside america does that mean i can't apply and what kind of qualificatiosn do you require for the hospitality then within the pavillion ?

i will check out this website also just now thank's

There is a program on Yummy where you can go over to Africa for 2 months and care for animals, you don't need any qualifications for that.

The last thing you want to say to the CRP recruiters is that you want to emmigrate to the US.

As said doing the CRP isn't really the right thing for you as your interested in Animals and want to immigrate to America.

Honestly, I think it's quite difficult to be able to immigrate to America, I don't know all the details, but you need a green card to be able to work in USA, there's a green card lottery done every year you could try your luck on that just google "green card lottery". Apart from that you need to a profession in something e.g. a doctor etc..., or a get a sponsor from the your work company, or the one hiring you in America, which I believe it quite costly -- Sorry I'm not that helpful.

  6. Im sorry but i dont think thats remotely true. The majority of people going on this program would love to iimigrate to america and alot of them probably would like to pursue careers in other areas apart from merchandise and Food and beverage. I would say you'd probably have a great time on this program. But its not something which would help you stay in the country. As i said above, the majority of folk doing it want to stay forever.

would there not be any chance that disney could sponser you to stay on at all i would not mind doing something other than animals at first to get myself a green card , if you are there for a year surely you should gain alot of expirence and that would work well for you applying to come back ect ?

  8. Of all the people i have heard doing this, I have never heard of anyone being kept on and being sponsored. I think especially in this economy its even going to be harder to get a job that americans can do.

I think perhaps having experience in america, would help you in your application. But most people who get sponsored are skilled workforces.

I know that alot of people do these program as they want to immigrate to America, but Craig doesn't say anything about his love for Disney, (which he might). I think there are programs for the year on gap year sites were you find your own job out in America., through BUNAC -- I think it is. You could apply for a job from one of the Animal Centre's such as SeaWorld, maybe Animal Kingdom, Busch Gardens, any zoo's in the countries -- I'm not sure how BUNAC works but I think it's where you find you own job and you get a year visa's...or something like that. Check out BUNAC site.

  10. I agree with that, an obsession with disney is required.

Hey Craig, the CRP is a great opportunity to see what life and work in america is like, it will let you make a final decision on whether you like it or not. Also do you love disney? If you do then you most certainly will want to try the CRP or if you are at college/uni then you can do the summer program whihc is the International college program.

Where abouts in scotland are you from?

TBH, there aren't many options for non-US residents, you would need to do some research. I not sure about it, you would have to check out there websites, and email them.

BUNAC stands for the British Universities North America Club, here's the link to the working in America section, but it looks as if you have to be a Uni Student, and it's only a summer job for up to 4 months. Are you going to Uni? http://www.bunac.org/uk/workAmerica/

CRP is the Cultural Representative Program, the forum page you have posted this thread ON! It's the year long program to represent your country for the year, for those with a love for Disney and interested in a career in Hospitably. http://www.disneyinternationalprograms.com/ and http://yummyjobs.com/

Most people do the program as they want for represent there country, for there love for Disney, the chance to love and work in America for the year, meet new people from across the world, and yes...alot of the participants do want to immigrate to America..but there is stiff competiton for the program. And honestly as said I don't think this is the right program for you.

Your interested in Animals, and want a career in it? What's you overall goal? -- What do you want to be a Vet, Animal Keeper etc... What qualifications do you have? You said you dropping out of college..most careers for animals need usually University Degrees.

  15. Craig, I would first off research this program and decide for yourself if its the program for you, just because you want to work with animals. Doesn't mean you wouldn't want to represent your country or meet people from around the world.

Its a exciting opportunity and honestly i think anyone would benefit from it. Your future career goals have no relevance in this program in my opinion, as the skills you learn can be incorporated into any work environment.

Where near glasgow mate? Im in Helensburgh.

If you'd rather work with animals there are some other options in Florida, New Mexico, and California, unfortunately they're nothing to do with Disney. I've been researching in case I don't get to go to disney I definately want to get over to america for a bit in my gap year. They're basically programmes that you pay for, but you're guarenteed acceptance in return for working as a volunteer in exhange for food and board. There are wildlife ones in florida, monkeys in california, and wolves in new mexico.

http://www.realgap.com/USA-Wolf-Sanctuary-in-New-Mexico <--- this is wolves, but the rest are also on this site.

Maybe this would be a better option for you?

I think also that your love of Disney has got to be balanced with other hobbies, interests etc. to show you're the kind of person they like, so a love of animals could work well for you! :) You don't need any hospitality qualifications - I have a degree in Geography, so totally unrelated ;D

I think this is a program for anyone who likes Disney, and wants a job that's fun and helps make people's days in small ways, and also someone who wants to gain independence, world experience and have a fun year :) It doesn't need to be something that you think your career will follow on from - I want to work in a charity! ;D

I was also looking at some things were like you said you pay for the job but then you get it no matter what i sent out emails to South Africaq for a shark one , Bejjin for a Dog Shelter place and i will try this Wolf one thank's alot.

I would still like to consider Disney though because it seems like the expirence is something taht will last forever
