Aww, i think thats quite a normal emotion to be scared. Its out of your comfort zone as well, i find that the emotions about leaving are really mixed up. I just keep thinking how much i wanted it in the first place, and what an amazing year it will be. Remember, nothing changes back home, its the same old boring stuff....its good to try new things. If you do decide its not for you, you can always come back. But i reckon you'll love it once you'll there :). So just try and concetrate on the positive!! xx

    I wouldn't worry.
It's quite normal to feel scared to leave home!

Just focus on the fact that you will be working in the happiest place on earth and be surrounded by a ton of new friends.

Good luck and enjoy yourself :)

Yeah, i haven't done disney before but right before I left for university I was positive I had mede the wrong decision and that I was going to have an awful time and I started thinking of all these excuses not to go-- I think that somehow when we are nervous about something we try to convince ourselves that we won't like it to lower our expectations so we won't be disappointed if we get there and it isn't what we expect. From what I have heard from everyone on this forum is that Disney is way worth the trip!! so listen to those second thoughts, figure out why you're nervous-- and then go anyway!! have fun and I'm jealous that you are leaving so soon!

I really hope you go anyway! Think of it like this; if you go there and think it's horrible, you have the option to leave. If you don't go you may not have this opportunity again and you may regret it the rest of your life.

Like Mark Twain said once: "In 20 years from now you'll be more disapointed in the things you didn't do than the ones you did"

  7. and you get to see all of the handsome americans and all the other guys and gals that head there. so it surely could be a great time

Smile. Let me put it this way. I have been travelling off and on for years. I worked on a cruise ship and went to Australia for a year completely on my own. This morning I was sitting in my hotel room at the Pop Century Resort not wanting to leave to head for the commons. COmpletely natural. I've met two of my roommates both really cool guys. And I wonder what I was nervous about. You have nothing to worry about and everyone here is so friendly. They are soo excited to have us here that they are all about what we are doing. Anyway. I'm in 1012 so if you want to say hi the moment you arrive you can. See you soon.

    Hiya guys,
Just thort being someone whos been to florida and changed my mind, i could help out with any questions yu mite have about going over and what to expect and stuff, and try and calm any nervers lol :D
I went on Dec 5th and came back about 3weeks later lol.
The main reason for my very prompt stay was because i only found out i was leaving on November 5th which gave me only a month to prepare myself to move countries and lifestyle lol and i wasn't organised at all.
I had an absolutely amazing 3weeks there though, all thanx to the people i flew over with they where the best and we all got along so great so fast, because we were all in the same boat, and even the cast members that were already working there knew what yu wer goin through and they really are the nicest people ever, they make u feel so at home, so dont worry about being alone or the people not being very nice because thats the last thing u need to worry about i promise yu!! Ill be watching this post so anyone whos got questions just ask n ill be happy to help :D

I don't know if I have had second thoughts or not....
I've thought "What if something happens while I'm down here?" and things like that but I have wanted this for so long and my family is really behind me, and I think I would really regret not going in the long run.
I went to college and knew nobody, moved to Muskoka for work right after college and knew nobody, then transferred to Edmonton and knew nobody, and I have met a lot of great people along the way. And don't forget they could be contacts down the road...
    Travelling and exploring is fabulous!
Enjoy the ride while you can :)

That's true, there's nothing to worry about! And remember if something serious does happen, they're humans at Disney too! So you'll get time off if it's needed!

How exactly do days off work?
I know I have a lot of family and friends coming down to visit and such, are they pretty leanient with that kind of stuff or since everyone is in the same boat is it kind of fend for yourselves?
My dad and gramma will be down probably like 3 or 4 times.....I guess time will tell!

hey! I'm going this august and to be honest I'm very nervous and I've 2nd thoughts... first I won't go, but my friends and family convinced me, and now, after reading so many good things about the program, I can't wait to go, but what if I don't like it, what if I don't like my roommates, what if my english isn't good enough?! I was never forced to speak english, I just had english at school... what about the lessons, essays, etc i've to do in the college program?! what course should I choose?! I've so many thoughts, but then, I read what u write and I calm down again... the truth is that if we do this we haven't much to loose (ok money ;-)) but if not, we'll loose a life changing experience, a lot of fun and so many friendships! so, go for it and we'll see us there ;-)

I've already turned down one once in a lifetime experience I would never be able to turn down this one.

I have completely ignored all my fears because I know that this is my "beginning" as my mother says. I know that I'm meant to do this and I just cannot wait.

I know it's hard to think of your life without the current things you have (boyfriend/family/school/house/ETC) but think sorta selfishly and think about what a great experience this will be and how you deserve to experience all of this.
