I would chose Merchandise, attractions, bell services, character attendant & full service but i think my 1st choice will be character attendant =] x
Did you find out what role you would be doing at your interview? Or did they tell you later... Just wondering, as not all of the interviews have been conducted yet. Worried that as London interview is last, there might be less choice?
First of all, I´m from Argentina. I had my interview 7/September, then one week later they told me I´ve been acepted, and then 1 or 2 weeks later they called me and told me the job.
when I did ICP '08, i had a phone interview, then was invited to the F2F immediately, but that was with a different hiring company, and then after the F2F it was almost 6 weeks until they called and offered me the job with the role. I didn't find out where it was until I got there!
After the F2F if your successful they'll tell you what role you have, but you don't know where it will be! So, last year I had an email saying: "Congratulations, you have been accepted for Quick Service Food and Bevarage" or words to that effect! Then on like my 3rd day I found out I was working in the Columbia Harbour House in the Magic Kingdom. It's awesome! xx
Operations (Attractions and Main Entrance Operations) Wow thanks for this, at least it gives me time to think Probably Character Attendant, Attractions, Custodial, Merch and then QS f&B
Ah ok. So is there absolutely no way to ask, or even hint towards working on a certain show / ride or at least a certain park. I've heard from a few people they were lucky enough to be offered exactly what they wanted.
In my interview, they asked me where i would like to work and i said Main St in Magic Kingdom and that's what i got. It could be a coincidence but if they ask then it's always good to have an idea!
My background is all in the movie making / film area, working on set and studying, it's literally my life. In my phone interview we spoke about this quite, do you reckon my face to face will be very similar. I'm desperate to get Hollywood Studios but i know not many people get what they want. Any advice for the interview to help my chances. I really want attractions.
so many people at my interview applied for custodial... if thats what u wanna do then fine but its just a glorified cleaner in my opinion! haha.. couldnt understand why people were so enthusiatic about it! i wanted something more exciting if i was to be working in disney for 3 months.. so i put down character performer. the hours are a lot shorter and i think it'd be amazing to be able to interact with guests in character. meeting characters was always the highlights of my disney hols when i was younger so i couldnt imagine anything better ^_^
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i applied for custodial! It not just cleaning, it has the highest guest interaction and you get to wonder round the parks and see the shows and fireworks and stuff. To be fair its not like disney really gets that dirty so i think its a pretty easy job, plus you get an awesome tan. Dont knock it, till you tried it! lol I just felt the needed to add my two cents. haha
I only ticked a couple of boxes, but it wasn't raised as an issue in my interview, in fact we even talked about a role / job that wasn't on the list, but that might have just been talk. Hopefully it wasn't!!! Going for attractions / character attendant / other Fingers crossed for you all.
i had a dream last night that i was working in disney as character performer. i was friends with mickey (which is illogical since im 6 foot... but yano... it was a dream) and i was in a restaurant going around tables seeing families. was sooo much fun! my tongue fell off tho and i had to find an attendant to put it back on haha i hope i get it now... made me so excited =P
I LOVED Custodial - it's definitely not just a glorified cleaner. I don't think I could ever stand being a character performer - you never get to talk! I like interacting with people waaayyy too much to be stuck in hiding all day long! I hardly cleaned anything - most of my work was directing guests and such.
