Hello all, I applied for the ICP Summer 09 programme the other day after having emailed yummy and they said I wasn't too late to apply. I've just got this email from them but i'm slightly confused: "Thank you very much for your interest in the Walt Disney World International College Program Summer 2009! At the time we have completed our pre-screen interviews for this autumn season. However we would like to keep your details on file until January 2009. We will respond to you again in January after reviewing your CV. Thank you very much and we are looking forward to consider you in the future for the Walt Disney World International College Program Summer 2009." I don't get it, do they have two different recruitment periods during the year? Anyone else been in the same situation? Thanks everyone. Em x
Hey, they do 2 different sessions of interviews (at least that's how they do it in Canada). There were interviews in Toronto and Montreal in October and then there will be more interviews sometime in the beginning of next year probably in Vancouver, Toronto and maybe one other place. So you haven't missed anything yet. Hope this helps!
Yeah they have a second phase of interview in the spring, so they will wait til the new year to start procedures with you. There are quite a few in the same boat as you. The appliction period hasnt closed as far as i know, so all these people will be placed in the spring.
Yep interviews around easter time, the applications should be open for a while, they open in January, beginning the phone interviews after a while, then closing a bit before the face to face interviews, so unfortunately there's plenty of waiting to do - better pass the time away chatting to us on here!
I got the exact same email. I just applied yesterday online and got a reply today. I have emailed them back asking them exactly what they mean. I guess it means there's still a chance.
Basically, there are two sets of interviews for each ICP session. One set of interviews happens in November and December. Then, another set of interview happens in January, February, March direction... My guess would be that the idea is that they make a forecast of how many people they'll need for the following summer and how many visas they'll have and the first group of interviews happens with that information. Then, if all roles haven't been filled, or if they've gotten more visas allocated, or if they'll need more people than they had thought (i.e they have more up to date and realistic info), they'll use that info for the second round of interviews. In other words, the interview sessions for before Christmas are probably full and they'll get back to you about the next round of interviews in the New Year. No need to panic just yet KC
Any chance you could let me know what they say when they reply please? Thanks for the replies everyone, i'm just really worried now that i'm gonna be at a disadvantage being in the second lot of applicants. I mean do they just look at the second lot if they're still needing staff or do we have the same chance of being considered as the first load of people? x
I dont know what its going to be like this year..But from previous years I remember that there are just some jobs that are no longer available.. Just as an example, they could be taking 50 lifeguards on for the summer program and they could have already gave 50 lifeguard jobs in the first stage..Then they wouldn't be able to employ any in the second recruitment stage.. I guess it all depends how well the first stage of interviews went to be honest tho..And I guess that each year they get a different allocation of jobs they can give.. When you go to the interview, you normally have to put the jobs in number order, starting from the one you want the most..The people who interview you are normally quite good at picking you the job which best suits you..Most of them have been doing it for quite a long time..
i was so tempted to aply again for the summer, damn not being able too lol. in the first round of interviews the character attendant wasnt available, but roger said it maybe int eh second round, it all depends on what is available.
Is there anyone from previous 2nd round interviews who knows when we may be contacted regarding the next round. I was offered a place at the december 11 in London but with a weeks notice from glasgow...was just not in the budget :S You guys know what the wait is like so when were you contacted regarding the interview for spring?
my mates who did it last year said it was around february time i believe. though dont take my word for it lol.
