Thought I'd start up a slightly random (though really not) discussion.

So who is having a big leaving do at their current jobs (or lives I suppose) before going to disney???

I am! It's all getting planned now though won't happen until June. My work mates have decided we're doing disney themed dress up night out. This is what happens when you work in the arts. We have many fancy dress nights.

I've already decided to go as Cinderella in her blue ballgown. And others have already grabbed characters: Tink, Jasmine, Jack Sparrow!

Anyone else doing similar? or anything else as a special send off?

I think it'd be just plain rude to ignore the opportunity to get drunk with mates for the last time for a year (probably) so hell yes a leaving do is on the cards... ;D

I had a joint leaving/birthday party last year and it was brilliant. It is so much easier to say goodbye to your friends that way when everyone is together, having a good time. My friends printed out some pictures from the party and I put them up in my apartment .I was thinking maybe me and my sister would have a joint going away party tin September. I like the idea of Disney fancy dress: Id definetly be Alice!

I turn 21 when I'm in America so my mum mentioned having a party before I go but I'm not sure if there will be one yet.

As far as work goodbyes - not really - just well wishes and cards from them - but the people I was really close with are definately invited to my big to-do!

Ever since I got the phone interveiw a party has been in the works! I'm making it HUGE.
So far, I've got planned a sleepover with the handful of really close friends - watching Disney movies all night, having mickey shaped pancakes the next morning, getting dressed up Disney style (I'm already calling dibs on Belle... suckers) and taking picture aaaaall around my small town so I can remember it! Just being really goofy but taking pictures to frame and take with me :p And of course, going to the *one* restaurant in my town for a last coffee and fries with the close peeps, and then... and then...

The night will be awesome. Have a goodbye banquet with the family at the Great Buffet of China (cheap and DELICIOUS! Aha!) and then it's everyone I know for a pub crawl! And Disney theming is a must. Well, I might make exceptions for some of the boys because they are chicken! Or just, too proud to wear mickey ears or a princess crown or something.

    I really can't wait :D :D

I haven't really thought much about what to do with my family. Mainly because I'll see my parents all too frequently once out there (they're retiring this summer and will spending a LOT of time out there anyway... so much for getting away) but for my sister and her husband's sake we'll likely go out for chinese..

My work colleagues are all really close friends of mine anyway, we're a close team so we're doing the dress up stuff. I am now going to be cinderella unless something goes horribly wrong! I'm going to get the blue ballgown. Friends have already started picking costume ideas... we have a jasmine, a tink, a jack sparrow... :)

Well my 21st Birthday will be 9 days before I leave for Disney so I'll combine the two. I'm thinking of renting out a hall in the town I live in and inviting everyone I can get my hands on (more people ... more free drinks ;) ) then hitting the nightclub I work for afterwards. I probably wont dress up maybe stick a goofy hat on or sumthin but I plan to get smashed (as well I should do).

Not that interesting but I suits me just fine.

P.S. I'm posting this from the middle of caribbean sea on a cruise - don't wanna make anyone jealous or anythin ;). I'm surrounded by hundreds of canadian people also- they're really cool cant wait to hook up with the canadians in florida ;D.

    TTFN

I will be celebrating my 23rd birthday 2 weeks before I go to Disney. So I am sure I will have one of those combined birthday/going away bashes. I am glad the Canadians are showing you a good time on the cruise, we are a fun bunch of people and I look forward to upholding that reputation when I go to Florida!

I have planned a huge Disney themed party two weeks before I leave. Everyone is to come as Disney characters, I am going as Snow White. Booked it last week for a function suite at a local hotel
