    Heya,

I've been accepted as well for the college program so im flying out on the 5th June from Glasgow! I'm kinda confused though cos i replied to Alexis today saying i accepted the job and she said it would be 4 weeks till i receive an info pack...do we have to wait till then to book flights or can we just book now?
Also if you fly into MCO do Disney people pick you up and take you to the accomodation?
Just wondering as i'd like to try get flights while there still quite a cheapish price!

    Thanks
    Mark

yes,if you arrive at MCO then you will be met there by disney staff and taken to the disney housing complex. No idea when you should book your flights, maybe wait and see whats in your pack (im in C.R.P so it might be different for you than it was for me,i went ahead and booked my own flight before i had recieved my pack!) yummy have to have yur flight details you see,so they can pass them on to the disney people so that they can come to the airport to meet you....

i think you should email yummy to see what they say... you don't HAVE to wait for yummy to send you the info packs, but yummy sort out group flights with certain travel companies. You can wait to book on the group flight and you'll be flying with others going to disney, but it will probably be more expensive. It's up to you i guess!!

    Re: Flights?

In the information pack it told us to ring STA to book them (01865 262304). They said ask for James, but that's not who I dealt with, so just say that you're calling about booking a flight for the Disney Programme, and they'll try and put you on a flight with others flying out on the same date. I can't see any reason why you'd have to wait, unless you're unsure about your arrival date (the flights are not refundable and you can't change them once it's booked). I'd definitely book ASAP though to get the cheapest option. Maybe e-mail Yummy Jobs to check that booking flights now would be fine to be on the safe side, but I really doubt it would be a problem.

    Re: Flights?

I'm a bit worried about booking a flight. I wanna spend the extra 30 days we get on our visa's after the program over in Nevada and California, but I don't wanna book a flight to leave 30 days after my departure date in case I run myself dry of cash while I'm there. Do STA provide flexible departure dates?

    Re: Flights?

I asked Kristen about booking my flight now and she said I could go ahead if I want but that you should be aware that there's always a risk you might not get your visa however small that risk is.

    Re: Flights?

I know i have posted this elsewhere but think it is more relevant to this thread. Is the departure date for the summer program (IE the date to book the flight home) the 31st August or do we finish the 31st and need to fly on 1st sept?

    Re: Flights?

I think you would finish work the day before but not totally sure on that!
Anyway your visa usually allows you to travel after you finish work for 30 days or so ;D if you wanted to leave later I know ours does

    Re: Flights?

when i first booked i made the mistake of thinking we worked on the 31st and so booked my flight home for the 1st, turns out you should book to go home on the 31st august (unless you are planning on staying in america longer). fortunately my booking hadnt gone through yet so i didnt get charged to change my return flight to the 31st!

I leave Manchester at 6.25am then leave Gatwick at 11.05am getting to Florida at 15.20...I know many people are doing the same Gatwick connextion as me but what about Manchester? flights

Does it matter what flights we book to get to Orlando? Scheduled? Or can I just book with Travel city direct or virgin or something?

    Re: flights

You best ask yummy jobs or your recruitment agency about this..as i believe you can do this but i think there's a slight possibility that it affects your chance of getting a visa..

You best ask the recruitment agency about it..but im sure this is what they said 2 me last year and have mentioned to somebody else this year..

    Re: flights

u can book ur own flights but u need to email i think yummy or the disney international arrivals with all the details so they can sort everything.

i think they say that if you do book ur own flights u should be aware that a lot of the cheaper flights are non refundable and if for any reason ur visa isnt accepted u wont be getting ur money back

    Re: Flights?

When I booked mine, they told me it would be about £100 more to fly back to Gatwick on the 31st!!! So I'm flying back on the 2nd instead, which is actually probably going to cost the same amount in the end, anyway, thinking about it in retrospect, but it's a few extra days to do some shopping and stuff I suppose!

I was wondering if anyone could let me know when would be the best time to travel back after the program?

The 31st August, is the date i've been given to finish but i don't know whether to book flights for this day or what? Do i give it another day and if so will i have to pay for an extra night accomodation?

Re: When to book return flights for?

31st august is the date you'll have to move out of your apartment (by 11am).
You will probably finish work a day or 2 before that.
If you plan on staying in the area, or traveling else where you can book a flight at a later date (up to 30 days after your visa expires), but remeber you'll have to find your own accomdation for the rest of the time you'll be in america!

Re: When to book return flights for?

i booked mine back on the 31st aug, but if you (or me!) changes your mind and wants to stay and travel, you can change your return date later. BUT it does cost you an extra £50 to change!
