Hi everyone, I have two questions that hopefully people here would be able to help me with.

First, I'm wanting to apply for work after I finish college in spring '09. So would anyone here be able to tell me when to apply? I don't want my application to apply, but I don want to be able to get my application in to get the process going.

Secondly, would anyone be able to help me out with the difference between the three jobs to apply for at the CRP? I've had 5 years working with kids in a camp setting and 1 summer at a sports resort, so I was hoping to apply for the attractions. But I've only seen people on here speaking of merchandise and concession.

Thanks so much for anyone who chooses to help! I'm from Canada if that helps. I'd love to make some contacts in here, it's nice to meet people with the same Disney passion I share.

    Howdy! Welcome to the boards!

    Ok here goes..

    1. I'm pretty sure your 'agency' that recruits for Disney is Cast-a-Way (as opposed to YummyJobs here in the UK) It's best to contact them (http://www.cast-a-way.com/main/home.html) explaining that you're interested in a program and want to know when to apply.

    2. For the CRP, there are generally only two jobs, unless your country has an attraction. Being Canadian, your pavilion is one of the fortunate few that do have an attraction... which you may or may not know is O'Canada. So basically, on the CRP, depending on your country, you can have one of three job roles: Food & Beverage, Merchandise, and Attractions (UK also has HRC, which is something to do with history LOL, but I'm not entirely sure what it entails).

    3. You might want to check out some of the other programs, or ask Cast-A-Way what programs are on offer. That way you can see what's out there and they might be offereing a program that allows you to work in other attractions around the resort.

Also, check out some program blogs people have done! (http://www.freewebs.com/disneygibbs is mine :p gotta love the plugging going around on here) but there are plenty more to be found here http://www.wdwip.com/smf/index.php?topic=4182.0 and here http://www.wdwip.com/smf/index.php?topic=4182.0

Hope this helps! There are plenty of Canadian's on here who I reckon will also help (I'm don't know all the intricate details of the application process for you guys, though I presume is pretty much the same as ours).

Hey! I'm from canada as well, and I've recently had my phone interview for ICP not CRP, but both are done through Cast-a-Way cruise and resort hiring agency, so it's mostly the same process. Send an email to eric@cast-a-way.com for more info. Another thing to consider besides CRP is the graduate CP that there are a couple of posts about-- I don't really know details, I think you take hospitality and tourism classes and work at disney for 6 months. The ICP year long program is cool too, but it means a year of study abroad which doesn't really work for your plan to do it after graduation. Cast-a-Way does interviews two times a year, fall in the west, spring in the east, and (from what I've learnt on these boards, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) you can choose when you want to head out to florida to start your program. I think some people apply way before they plan to go, so for spring '09 you could probably apply for the east coast interviews like now (the toronto interview is in 17 days! and phone interviews are happening now), or if you're on the west coast probably september is your best bet.

    Anyways, hope that helps.
P.S-- where are you from/ What college/uni do you go to?? I'm from ottawa but go to Queens in Kingston. :)
P.P.S-- What camp did you work at?? I worked at Camp Arrowhead in the Muskokas (ontario) for 3 years, were you in that area at all?

    Hey,

I just had my phone interview with Eric yesterday and asked about Attractions (the other option for Canadians). He said he could write down my preference but he wasn't sure if there were any positions available.

Attractions in Canada is introducing the movie (O Canada), and it might also involve the Kid-Cot station. It's what I really wanted to do so I'm hoping some positions open up!

I'm from Vancouver, BC. But right now I'm studying in Saskatchewan (don't ask me why, I think it's cheaper)

I've mostly worked at a camp on Vancouver Island (5 Summers) but I did spend one summer up at Muskoka Woods Sports Resort which sounds like it's right around the area you were at!

    Thanks for your help!
