Hey! (I think this is the right place to ask, I'm so sorry if it isn't. I'm new :-[)

I really really really want to do the CRP, when I'm older. I'm 17 but I think it's best for me to wait until I'm 21. Plus, I haven't got the experience to set me apart yet. I'm hoping to spice up my life story by doing something like Camp America once I've finished my alevels next year.

anyway I'm going off topic :p

The only problem is I've never actually been to WDW. I've always wanted to go but with family problems we can't do the whole jet off for a few weeks on a family holiday thing.

I was wondering how badly this would affect my chances of being accepted? This is something I really want to do!!!

    thanks in advance ^^ <33

yea i agree i dont think not being to disney will affect your chances! tho def b over 21 means u dont have to b sober for the yr and also you'll live int he normal houses rather than the well-being apartments, so u can join in with all the parties without worrying about being caught

I think you've made the right decision to wait and get some experience under your belt first. And as debz said, waiting until you're 21 means you don't have to worry about alcohol rules as well.
As for never having visited WDW before... it doesn't go on your CV that you've been there. The recruiters wouldn't even know unless you told them, so it won't affect your chances in the slightest.

I had never been to any Disney park before I went on the ICP in 2006. I think if anything, you can use it to your advantage. It can show how much desire you have to be there!

Since then, I have been back to WDW 7 times, Disneyland twice and Hong Kong Disneyland! I'm not obsessed... ::)

wow Matt, thats impressive. I've only been to WDW 7 times starting at age 5... but for me, its only money that keeps me away. If funds weren't an issue I'd be there every year... probably twice a year.

I worked at WestJet, so the flights were cheap, which is why I was able to go so many times!

If money weren't an issue, I'd just stay there all the time! Permanent residency in the Grand Floridian! :D

being a cast member, you may well be able to do that, such is the levelof discounted rooms-especially if you go with groups and split the cost............i spent nights in most of the resorts, inluding the really expensive ones like the grand floridian, for less than 40 dollars a time

are you allowed to share the room with people? Like a friend, or is that price only allowed to be for you?

Its the cost for the WHOLE room ;D

You can have friends/family stay and get them discounts on accomedation. If you stay in the room with them then you get a higher percentage of discount, eg instead of 40% off, you'd get 50%. But they can stay on their own, as long as you show your id at check in.

share the room, split the cost-i used to go with friends etc-easy and cheap with the cost split and your pretty big discount

yeah, we criticise Disney as any of us criticise our bosses, but you do get some undeniably good perks-you could go on a disney cruise around the carribean, which cost A FORTUNE for next to nothing as a castmember-its especially good for people who arent in a tipped position-although even people who were earning hundreds of dollars a day in tips wouldnt say no to the very generous discounts :)

Wow those cruises look delightful! So does anyone know exactly how it works? I think I may have heard that we only get the deals for last minute bookings? My concern would just be in getting the time off work if we're booking the trip last minute ???
