Hey guys ..just wondering if you have to be born in that country to represent it? How does this work because i am living in Canada now but im from the Caribbean.
You can work in any country you hold a passport for...and it would be useful to have some knowledge of that country! Shannon
does cast-a-way hire only for the Canadian pavillion? like if there was a UK citizen living in Canada and they wanted to go work in the UK pavillion do they have to go back home to apply or can they apply through cast-a-way?
oooh thats a good question. You'd want to be representing the UK? I think you do have to hold a passport for the country...but totally contact Cast-a-way and ask them about that, and let us know what they say, thats a good question.
yea well if id did go on the cultural program it'd be with the Canadian pavillion, but i'm more interested in the ICP program anyways at the moment... i just thought it would be a neat thing to know!
hey Shanny, not sure if you remember Andi from Prince George, B.C. ??? F&B. You might've already left before she arrived, but anyways..... Andi was in fact a Swiss citizen - as you cannot have duel Swiss/Canadian passports(me thinks). She had moved to Canada at age 13. They hired her and she represented Canada, so Sherry I don't see why they couldn't hire you. If you pass all the interview questions about Canada, why not? Her arrival date got pushed back. The U.S. gov't had some problems with her paperwork though. She arrived alone with no other Canadians(but with other pavilions). But we found her and the rest is history.
(this is a really old thread someone zombied...I think I remember sherry saying she wasn't able to do it)
