Hey guys, I've been accepted into the Canadian CRP and my arrival date is Feb 2nd. I heard during the interview that you can potentially get in to a tipped position at the restaurant. I'm just wondering how long it generally takes to get in a tipped position and how much you can expect to make in tips!

    Thanks alot,
    Justin

I don't know if you had this answered but I can answer it here!

It generally depends on the person - first you start out seating, on the outdoor popcorn cart, etc and once you've proved to the managers you are capable and can spiel the whole menu properly (wine pairings and such) you get into tipped positions! It usually takes about 3-ish months but I've seen really eager people amaze the managers within a month and I've seen people take 5 months to get in, just because they loved their job at seating and wanted to take their time into a confident serving role :)

I know this because I was on the CRP (in attractions) and some of my besties were F&B :)

Good luck! You're in for an amazing time!
