    Dear Matt

Thank you so much. Yes, I'm the one who always worry with things around me and really get nervous now. I afraid to be rejected.

I'm now gathering the common questions in the google. But not much help as it mostly related with F-1 Visa.

Hurrrrr. I'm now crossing my finger and pray............

I don't think you should have much of a problem. I haven't had an interview for a Q1 Visa, but for my J1 summer work visa last year the only question I was asked was where I would be working - she didn't even tell me I got the visa verbally, she just put a piece of paper to the glass telling me I'd got it. I think she may have had a sore throat. Lots of waiting around though.

    Thank you AJ

I hope I will get short question like yours.

I had other 2 tourist visas granted by US Embassy on 1994 (valid 1year) and 1996 (valid 5years). At that time, I went to US with my Family for just short holiday vacation. It is around 10-15 days. I will bring them tomorrow with me. Hopefully they may help.

    Hi Loulie, Matt, AJ

    YaaaaaaHoooooooooooo.

Just back from Embassy. Yeah, I GOT IT NOW ......MY Q-1 VISA........ But still need to wait for my passport with Visa Stamp on it for few more days. They will send it back by express post.

I gathered the Common Visa Interview Questions from the internet yesterday and practiced to answer all of them last night. All of you may think that I can use English and should have no problem with interview, but as English is not my native, even I can write smoothly, but not much good on speaking skill and I didn't use it everyday like all of you, and with the panic exciting nervous during the interview, these also made my speaking skill getting worst. Anyway I passed it and the woman who interviewed me said that my English is quite good (But I don't think so) hahahahaha. My both legs shook for the whole period of interviewing (around 15-20 minutes). Fortunately, I need to talk with her thru clear glass window, so she couldn't see my leg. But all the people who were waiting at the back of me, they must have seen the shake for sure....so ashamed.... :)

For the interview questions.....Actually they are common questions. As Matt said, after getting through the interviews for Disney you'll be just fine getting through the Visa interview. But please make your look to be confident, answer the question clearly.

She asked me many questions as she never had experience with this type of Visa in Bangkok US Embassy. She asked how much Thai people participate in this program each year. I said just only 2 Thai people each year and mostly they are from northern part of Thailand and apply the visa in Chiang Mai US Consular. (But at that time my English answer was not good as I write at the moment. lol I could feel that my voice was shake). As she never had experience with the Q1, so she asked me lots of questions. I don't think she want to have deep screen in my personal information, but I think she is interested in the program and just would like to know the detail about it but this made me more panic......

    The below are those questions

    1. What is your purpose of travel?
    2. Why do you want to travel to the USA?
    3. How long will you be staying in USA?
    4. Where exactly will you work? (I position is in Animal Kingdom and it seems that she don't know what Animal Kingdom is, as there is question mark on her face., so the next question is below------>)
    5. Animal Kingdom? (Ans: AK is one of the park of Walt Disney World and there is Asian Section in Animal Kingdom Park and all Asian CRPs need to be placed in this park)
    6. Which State?
    7. How do you know this program? (I have a friend participated in this program in last 2 years. I asked for the direct e-mail so that I can send my resume to apply directly. and so and so.....)
    8. Is your friend come back yet?
    9. Is there any one from Disney come here to interview you? (YES, Mrs..........)
    10. What is your duties for this position?
    11. What exactly you have to do in the park?
    12. What you would tell guests about Thai culture?
    13. Why do you want to join this program?
    14. What are you doing now?
    15. Do you have any plan after you come back?
    16. Do you have any college degree?

I prepare lots of document to guarantee myself, e.g. Three Bank Statements and Bank Certificates, Land Property Registration and many more. But what she took from me were just only DS-156-157 and I-797 & letter notice of approval. I asked her if she need to see more documents, as I prepare bla bla bla bla....... She just only say NO, thank you. and granted me VISA......

After I get out from the Embassy, I find the place to sit down and note all of the questions that I remember and only above questions that I can remember.

Hopefully those may be a guide line for the one who will have next interview.

I have to wait for my Visa and then e-mail to US then book the flight......YAHOOOOOOOOO...

    Have a magical day.

Wow that's more intense than I thought it was! I thought it was a case of you go in, state where you're going and what job you've been offered, and they say OK! :S I'm a bit nervous now lol! Well done Cherry! And I'm sure nobody noticed your shaking legs- they were probably too busy worrying about their own shaking legs! ;)

    Hey Cherry!

Great :D Now you're truly ready for DW!! Well thanks a lot for telling us about the answers but think they're the same they usually do when you want a tourist visa right? At least in Mexico is like that :p

So I've been talking with other guys who already went to the interview and they told me that US Mexico's City Embassy is quite use to this kind of visa so I guess I'm a lucky one ;)

But still I'm glad to know you got it and I'm sure your english is better than mine hehe :p

Can't wait to meet you all!!

There are lots of participant from Maxico, UK, South Africa and other European countries. So Q1 is more familiar for embassy in those countries than Thailand as there are just only 2 participants from Thailand in each year.

I think another factor is country, if you are from Indochina countries, South East Asia, Middle East, or some other third world countries. You will be asked much more question than UK, or Canada for sure, even you have I-797 to guarantee your visit.

Anyway, what so ever who you are, please be proud of yourself. You have been selected by Disney and you are the representative of your country. Just need to be confident to tell the consul officer what so ever you gonna do in Disney. I think they just want to know the detail as this is interesting program, so they ask lots of questions.

The process of Q-1 in Bangkok is like normal process of tourist Visa, pay the same fee as tourist visa ($130, right). But there will be additional charge at 15$ for PIM (I also don't know what it is). This 15$ is a sign of successful as you will be asked to pay if the interviewer would like to grant you a visa. The interviewer will ask you to pay at cashier and come back to see her again. Another additional charge is express post, to send your passport with visa stamp back to your house. That's it.

Who is the next one to visit Embassy?

    Hiya Guys,

I am currently filling out my DS-157 Form (Males Only) and I am confused as to the wording of Question 17. 'List All educational institutions you attend or have attended. Include vocational instututions but not elementary schools' Is a Elementary School the American term for 'High School' or is that the American term for 'College'?
I do not know what to put there 'High School' or 'College'.

    Thanks for your help. Graeme.

    THANK-YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

For mine, I just listed last 4 degree that I have (2 Master, 1 Bachelor and 1 Diploma). I didn't mention any high school or other lower education as there is no space to write it all.

    Daz

So Sorry, I don't know about the process in London. By the way, in Thailand, for my case, I need to arrive Orlando on 21 April 2009, I got the notarized copy of the I-797 Approval Notice from the United States on 2 Mar 2009, then made appointment (online method) with US Embassy in Bangkok, my appointment date was on 11 Mar 2009, my visa was approved and sent back to me on 12 Mar 2009. That's all.

At the moment, I keep waiting for the flight from Disney. They said that they will contact me again around 14 - 16 April for flight arrangement.
