Hi! I just got an email from Eric of Cast-A-Way (Canada). He says that I'm missing my "proof of student status." I've faxed in a confirmation of attendance letter from my university about a couple of months ago, but apparently that's not it. Can anybody please help? Thanks. Carol
It's attached to the email. I've been having a big freak out over this the past couple of days. I had thought we only needed the accredidation letter, but apparently we need both. You need to figure out who at ur school has a stamp or seal and take it to them to fill it out.
I don't really see what the point of this "Proof of Student Status" letter is, because ALL of that information was on the accreditation letter that I already gave them.
Thank you so much for replying guys! Frankly, I don't see why they need it either if we've sent in the accreditation letter. I guess I'll just phone him tomorrow morning. Ahhh! I'm freaking out too cause there's not much time left if anything goes wrong again! (I'll come and post his reply here in case anyone else needs it.)
Thanks Carol! I can't believe they pulled this on us at the last minute like this. The accreditation letter took a week to get done, so if we need this and it takes that long too it's really going to be cutting it close. :-X

Hi! so sorry. I didn't have time to phone Eric today because I was so occupied with my work and I forgot. By the time I'm finished, it's 3:30 pm already (Pacific time for me, 6:30pm Eastern time for him) and he's probably left his office. I did realize though that the "proof of student status form" was attached to Eric's email. (As was mentioned by Brynna, but I missed it. Oops!) I printed it out and had it stamped at SFU's registrar office. The office is open regularly. It only took about 5 minutes at the counter. So don't worry, we should be able to get the package in time before we leave. I'm just really frustrated because when I already ask him (Twice!) if I was missing anything and he always told me no. He may also have told me the wrong program end date because everybody else had Aug. 24th while I have Aug. 27th. Ahh! Pardon me if I sound a little rude.... I just need a place to vent off some steam.
Thanks for the info Carol, I"m glad it's only gonna take going to student services. But still, very frustrating that they didn't tell us before. I mean, we only had since November to find this out, and they wait until 3 weeks before we go.
yea i as well am pretty annoyed with eric. he seems to be very unorganized. i also emailed him atleast two months ago saying i know that i still needed to send him my passport info but if there was anything else, if he could plz let me know, and i found that he never answers questions straight on! grrr. and this whole proof of status... he emails us saying we need to hand it in asap to get our visa, when this was the 1st time it was ever mentioned!? to be honest i'm a little more worried about the trip than excited at the moment... maybe also cuz i've talked to someone who's stayin for the one year n just got there 2wks ago, and is already considering going home early... or maybe i'm more worried because for the amount of money disney makes, it feels like we're being child laboured! haha. i know it'll be an experience of a life time, but when we have to spend so much money b4 we even get there, and barely make enough to get by while we are out there.... ok that's enough... think happy thoughts right!?
I didn't pass in any sort of letter other than the proof of student status form :-\ It's sad how much work we all put in to this, just to have little things left off at the end that end up being so frustrating! I know they mentioned of proof of student status form a couple of times at our interview, and they said if we didn't have it to send it in as soon as we could. It said the same thing in the email I got saying I got the job. It'd be so much easier if everyone was getting the same info
Believe me there are PLENTY of people who are just as annoyed with Eric as you guys... I know 5 people (including me) who just ended up going to the Casting building in Florida for Job interviews after dealing with him
Is Nicola not there anymore? Cause last year everything went smooth as humanly possible and this year it's been really hectic! I liked her, she seemed to know what she was doing. I'm pissed at all the confusion, but I kind of feel bad for Eric, the guy seems to have alot on his plate. The whole student status form thing is a bit of a joke, not sure what's going on with that, but I think it's more of a demand on Disney's end. On the form it says a university letter suffices, but now they won't take that. I emailed Disney directly about it and they told me to get the stamp, I think that's new. Cause Eric didn't seem to know about it til just last week.

does it have to be a stamp from the school? because my department secretary just stamped the department stamp on it.. and it doesnt have the school's name on the stamp.. it jsut says.. "hospitality management department" .. is that enough?
