Hello there I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what Disney's policy is on having to make a trip home for some reason. Example what if there is a Death in the family. I am not saying I would like this to happen but you never know and I am just wondering if this happens if you can take time off and go home or what?
actually that happend in ower pavilion, one of my collegs had a friend who died while she was at the program. So she got time off to go home to his funural. An other girl at ower pavilion was just really lucky too, she just wanted to go home on vactation and Luckeli enoguh she got 14 days off.. I have no idea how sewg manage that.. but she did. But that doesnt happen every day.. I know I had a really hard time to get any time off at all. the best thing is if you go and fuss about time off all the time to your schaduler.
This happened to me while I was over there as my Grandfather died. They can officially give you up to 7 days off for bereavement but it depends on the pavillion. I was given 3 as I already had a back to back booked off for the weekend of the funeral by accident (was meant to be going on holiday and ended up having to come home instead) but afterwards I found out I could have got 7. They are unlikely to tell you how many you can officially have they would rather you ask for the number of days your want. They do have to understand things like this and they deal with it all the time so its nothing new to them. Also bare in mind if you can get a letter from the funeral director stating the dates and relationship of the deceed to you you can get cheap scheduled airfares too
Hey Gals and Guys, Yeah they can give u time to go to ur home country for some days. For holidays or events. U know I also fear something like that to happen while I am in Florida. Dont know if my parents want me to come for the funerals or so. Anyway. Hope it doesnt happen for anyone See ya Robb
I hope you dun have to spent your rar time back in your home country, but if it happens, they have to give you time off... The gave me 8 days when my aunt was so sick that I needed to go back to say good bye to her the last time, so it just depends on the working situation, what season it is and stuff like this, but in the case of death, the will give you enough days off... Dun worry, they're nice poeple over there (at least most of them ) Anna
Usually everyone understands when it's an emergency cause that makes you go home. You will also have nice collagues who will cover up for you in such a case. I think half of my time at Disney was low season so I could always get lots of time off. In my last few months I had 2 weeks off in August and 2 in September. It only sucks you don't get paid.
