Hey guys- so whos seen it yet then?? I went on Thursday morning to see it (in the turrential dowpour that we had here on thursday- it was very floridian weather! I sat through the film soaked!) ANYWAYS, the film... Well my verdict Ive got to say is unfortunately that it was ok- but not great. I was a little dissappointed as I didnt realise it was in 2 parts- and so the film doesnt really have an ending. So now Ive got to wait AGES for the next one to come out- which realy irritates me about films! So maybe it was because I was expecting an ending and didnt get one that I was dissppointed, I dont know The film was ok- plenty of swashbuckling fun! And Johnny Depp was on top form, he really does make the film! But i found that most of the funny bits in it Id already seen- because most of them are in the trailers! The special effects etc are all ace- cant fault the disney magic making Davy Jones and his crew come alive- they are brilliant! I have to say one of the things i found i loved about it was Jack Davenport making a return, but looking a little rough around the edges- Im a sucker for an english gent!! And a slightly rougher looking one made my day So thats my mini review of it- dont get me wrong, I really enjoyed seeing it- I just wish i didnt have to wait who knows how many months to see the end!! There were bits of it which i thought we ace- but I dont want to talk about any of the details in case you havent seen it, wouldnt want to ruin it for you What did anyone else think? Hugs Gem x-x
i'm going to see it tomorrow and i'm sceptical because the 1st was such a huge success and it was just sooooo good it will be difficult it keep it going which is what happens with most sequels.
I wasn't expecting a lot from it so it's no surprise that I was plesently surprised with it when I went last night. Oh and Gemma I'm pretty sure no 3 will be out in April-June next year. They're almost finished it allready!
Well i have now seen it and i was very disappointed. It was rather slow, the dialogue was no where near as good the writers made it funny in the 1st one and Jack had great lines which made the film and this time he had nothing, the CGI couldn't fault but the only reason that it was good was because of who was in it! They should never have done another one let alone another two because you just can't top the 1st one and the others will always fall short!
I thought it was OK. I loved the bit at the end with you know who coming back (just in case anyone hasn't seen it not using the name). It was slower than the first movie but I liked the fact it left it open for the next one and I liked the effects. Also is it me or has Johnny Depp got even more camp in this one? His run still makes me laugh!
Yes he is deifnately camper- hilarious though!!!!! Without him the film really would be appalling!!! Glad Im not the only one who was unimpressed
Definately would be good on video and anything where you see Johnny looking so fine is good. Also Orlando Bloom was looking a little buffer than normal and didn't annoy me quite as much as usual so that's good.
Well I liked it, Orlando still annoys the heck out of me, but a film with Johnny and Kiera *Le sigh*. I sat through the credits as well.... the end snippet is brilliant. Maybe not quite as good as the first, but still brilliant IMHO. I will see it again before I leave for Florida. (this is saying something, the last thing I saw in the cinema before PotC2 was The Incredibles when I was visiting friends in America.)
the reason it was open ended is because that's how a trilogy tends to work... the first film is normally close ended because they never know if it will be enough of a success to make a trilogy. if from the first film they decide to make a trilogy then the second one ends on a cliff hanger or with something unanswered to make you see the 3rd and final film! thats was i was taught anyway
