they are changing pirates to fit with the MOVIES!

 

lol not as much as you may think...

They're adding Cpt Sparrow and Barbosa (as well as Davy Jones I guess) but they won't look like Jhonny Depp and the other actor, they will be stylised to fit in with the rest of the ride (or in other words they'll look like they've always been there, and will fit in with the other audio anamatronics). A few other things will change (such as sound clips for some audio anamatronics) but it's nothing major or earth shattering.

Personally I see no problem with it, imo you need to keep things current. For example I have no problem with them changing Swiss Family Treehouse to Tarzan Treehouse. I've never seen Swiss Family Robinson, and I'm sure most of the people younger than me haven't seen it either.

Same thing here, you have a majority of people who would go on the ride for the first time after seeing the movies looking for Cpt Sparrow.

 

At the start, I was so against this, you wouldn't believe.

But to be honest, now I can't wait to see the ride all redone! It'll be the same ride-all the major setpieces will stil be there. Just that now the ride will have a discernible storyline.

Actually, a few days ago, I was reading an update about the refurb and thinking "Oh, that looks so cool. I'd love to be able to get on it while I'm in Florida, but it'll be closed "

Then it dawned on me...

It wont be!

Swiss family robinson is a wicked film I recommend you watch it its a proper sunday afternoon film

 

I'll have to do it sometime... maybe when I get to Florida and am able to rent movies at the commons...

I'm interested (yes that is indeed the correct word...) to see the results of the POC rehabs; the most controversial rehabs since JIYI.

Did anyone hear the Inside the Magic April fool about the POC rehab? Dinner in Downtown Disney with Jonny Depp. Lol! I wish!

guess what Kev, I went to MK last week completely forgeting Pirates was gonna be open again for a short period of time after clean up and before rehab. So how happy was I when I walked past to see it open woo hoo, I finally got to ride pirates. Now i just got to wait for you to get here so we can ride the new version for the first time together ;D

 

POTC is one of my favouritist rides. I can't wait to see the changes
