oh cool!!! I assume we're allowed to take the name badges home with us- as a sort of souvenir?

Yup you get to keep them (and even order extras which I reccomend unless you want to take a random name out of the drawer)

Also we all should be getting new ones in January when the Year of a Million Dreams ends

That completely confused me

 

Essentially if you forget or loose your nametag you go into costuming and get a random name that is similar to yours.

I went for one last year just to put on my coat and they gave me Ian... I know a guy who I worked with who got Mohammad so it's pretty random.

 

Yeah, towards the end of my program, I must have lost my nametag every week. ;D how clumsy of me! haha It was great, when I got home, I found them all

Yeah I had trouble getting a good photo... had to go no flash because the flash just screwed it all up.

 

Ha! They used to do the random nametag thing when I worked at WHSmith- but after people kept forgetting them they ordered two 'standby' nametags- Humphrey and Esmerelda. After having my chest stared at in disbelief after being Esmerelda for the day, I never forget my nametag every again! (To be fair, in Disney being Esmerelda would be quite cool! But not when you're mainly serving 60+ year olds...)

 

I lost my nametag early on and had to be Frank for over a month... Because of the nametag transition between celebrations.. It was funny, because I was frank to everyone. lol

 

You couldn't really nab an emergency one working in the UK pavillion though could you? It says where in Britain you're from and if my badge said London and I spoke with a Scottish accent, people would just get confused.

 

You'd just wear a plain one without your place your from on..Thats what pretty much all the other castmembers wear, just a plain one with there name on and walt disneyworld etc...

Yup, all the YoMD nametags have where you come from on them.

I never once lost my nametag though I would have liked to have lost my HCoE one...it really confused people when I spieled with an American accent and said I was from England...at least with the YoMD they didn't get so confused and think my British accent was fake (I would love to find the guest who did...grrrrr )
