Just wondering what the make up of ppl doing programmes from November to February will be like - I'm guessing mainly just cultural reps and ppl from the Southern Hemisphere? Americans/Europeans don't get a big break over Xmas do they, so will there not be that many college ppl there? Also anybody who has been before - what's it like being there on Xmas? Thanks
American workers should be there. My mate said that uni students in america either work jan-aug or may-jan. they dont get the summer option really, they have to do a term along with the summer.
I'm out there between october and april sio will be there for christmas - graduate hospitality management program there quite alot of us from the UK and some other nationalities as well.
I kinda want there to be plenty of Americans there to lessen the chance of me being in Vista lol. Sounds like the worst of the three, plus I'm not an overboard partyer. ;D "Vista Way is the largest and oldest complex, and is home to the College Program participants from American Colleges and Universities, while the IP participants are in the two newer and smaller properties across the road." (Living Experience page) Are the two properties this is talking about the Commons and Chatham or a newer part of Vista for IP'ers?
Hey. I did the international program last summer...stayed at vista and loved it! they say its the oldest but there's not that much difference between them..i found that there was alot more going on there...everyone i knew that was at chatham said it was dead, and a few of them asked to be transfered. But i spose it changes from year to year, and at different times etc. And yea the other 2 they're talking about are chatham and the commons...there quite close together, and vista is abit further away from them
It will be sad being away from all my family on Xmas lol. :'( Is it just like every other day there? I guess so if everybody has to work.
i wouldn't worry bout it too much, it'll still be crimbo day! i was out there a few years bak over crimbo and it was a lil wierd but still awesome. plus if u get crimbo eve off u get to enjoy massive sales!!! but as a warning anyone working in magic kingdom good luck!!! they close the gates at 10 coz it gets full to the max it will blow ur mind how busy mainstreet can get
The parks sounds like they're going to be crazy, good thing they close the park gates then so we don't run away scared! I guess that over christmas everyone will be missing home and usual traditions and i think that'll help make it very special. I can't wait to spend christmas in disneyworld, like my two favourite things combined!
Sounds awesome. I've never been to WDW so I'm looking forward to it heaps. Sounds like Magic Kindom is really beautiful at Christmas time! Massive sales sound good too. ;D Is Christmas the busiest time of year? I wouldn't have expected so many people to be away from home at that time. Bryce
i don't know if it is for sure but i'd guess that time of year gets busier when i was out in June-July someone who worked on Soarin that on new years eve there was a 4 hour wait to get on it!! when my family were out there it def picked up over the holiday days we were there for a couple of weeks in the mid of december til just before new year and it went frtom 20 mins max waiting time to like 60 min from bout the 22nd to til we left so it def picks up a bit
i've read somewhere that the magic kingdoms parking lot is usually full by 10am, so it must be very busy in the MK at least on Christmas day
whoa 4 hour wait for soarin?! anyone know what they do for midnight at disney world, are there events in all the parks?
Soarin' is one of the rides I'm most looking forward to, but FOUR HOURS? I don't think any ride is worth standing in a queue for that long.
mmm i think fastpass is a must lol. still at least at the end of 4 hours you get a sit down! i can't imagine how long the lines will have been in the magic kingdom. i think christmas shopping in florida will be fantastic!
man 4 hours was what i thought, no ride is worth it but bad news for y'all thinking fast pass, even theres still waiting on them not as bad but a lil bit of a wait. in july the wait was like 2 and a half wait and i was like awww hell no, that was with magic hours and fast pass!!! but it still worth the wait and as a hint ask to be put on the top flyer
I'm there over this christmas, i'm doing crp from next tuesday for the year looking forward to christmas in a different country, never been away from home at christmas b4! plus my sister has just graduated from medicine and will have to work on christmas as well, so 2 children away for christmas in the family, gota hurt my parents lol! gona be weird but fun too! having christmas with people the same age as you and all.
I have been twice to WDW at christmas/new year and it was amazing, yes it was busy but you can beat the atmosphere in the parks. Best moment had to be seeing the millenium in at WDW.
whoa i bet seeing the milenium thre was a bit incredible! i'm going to be pretty much working every christmas from now on, so i'd best be getting used to it!!! i'll be feeling a tad guilty about leaving my parents at christmas too. i dunno they'll probably just get a dog or something to replace me lol.
Im over there on holiday with my Gf (hopefully the last time im over there before i fly out 2 months later) Hopefully ill see some of you working there
