heyhey! i wonder if anyone can help me. Im flying out on 22nd April and my passport is still valid till 2013....ive booked my flight and on the 'E-ticket' it says that i must hold a machine-readable passport...does this mean the new passports with the chip in it? if so does this mean i have to apply for a new passport even tho my current one is still valid? im really confused(.com) can anyone fill me on more info? :-\ cheers xx
No, the machine readable ones are the ones before the chipped ones, it just means that all your data is also on some kind of database.
ah right ok....so my current passport(that hasnt got a chip) is ok?good stuff! thought i had to spend more money then....phew! lol thanx david x
all machine readable means is that it has all the biographical info is in one of those codes at the bottom of the page beginning with all the >>>>>>>>
as long as the page at the back with you photograph has two lines of numbers and lessters with several >>>>> symbols then it is machine readable
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i got ya now! well i feel dizzy right now lol thanx guys! ;D
