Im ICP 2006 Alumni and have applied to do another Summer with the mouse. Im gonna be part of the Spring in-take, so if im accepted its gonna move pretty fast! Anyhoo, Im slightly concerned about my passport. Its only 2 years old, but it looks like its about 40. I got it for my ICP 06' and when I got there, my DS-2019 form didnt get stamped and Disney had my passport, Birth Certificate, Insurance documents - Basically my Identity - and when I got it back it was a wee bit creased! So as I got home, travelled etc it got worse. I met my lovely bf while there, and he is of the Irish variety and im Scottish so I travel pretty often and now my passport just looks rubbish! My photo page is perfect but the cover is creased, with a marker stain from a sticker on the back? It came from the embassay and I didnt take it off and now my passport has a marker stained '608' on the back and the gold writing is coming off. Im not quite sure what to do. Some people say I should get a new one? But others say because I already have an old visa in it, I have to keep it. I don't want to get to America and get sent home from the ever so friendly customs chaps! Anyone got any help/advice? Sorry for the essay.... Chrissie - ICP- Stands West,MK,2006 - Treehouse Villas!
I can't give a comprehensive assesment as such but I think if the photo page is in reasonable condition and (I'm assuming it's got the chip in if it's just 2 years old? Or maybe it was just before that?) if the chip is ok, then it should be fine.. the rest is just cosmetics. Give the embassy a ring if you can get through or check the passport issue people. Don't trust the post office checking service they are evil. I had to send a rather pertinent letter to the passport people when the post office cocked mine up so I had to reapply grr. Sorry I can't be of more help!
