Hello all I was recently turned down for the first stage of the international program as I don't have hospitality experience. Serves me right for not putting down on my CV that I spent a year at McDonalds eh... Anyway. I've been looking at other ways of potentially getting to work at Disney World and remember that while I was there, one of the workers said that they had started at Disneyland Paris and then internally transferred over to Orlando after a few years. Does anyone know if this still goes on? I realise this is not really anything to do with the international program website but the community here has been very helpful in the past and I don't know any other place where people go to talk about Disneyland careers. Any advice would be much appreciated! PS. Am currently applying for Legoland which is just down the road - I'm hoping some time spent there plus a French course I'm going to take will stand me in good stead for DLP...
I don't know if it's relevant but on the 'extra stuff' on the side menu <<<< there is a 'other disney jobs' section as well as 'cruise line jobs' if your interested.
Also.. http://www.disboards.com Is another Disney messageboard system.. You might find some info there as well
Riiight.. So I can tell this much. There is a slim chance of getting a transfer to WDW from Paris. But the thing is that you have to work at least a year consecutively in DLRP before you're able to even apply for the transfer. And even then it's not certain that you'll get it. So my advice would be to gather a bit of experience in the hospitality field (why not in DLRP!) and the apply again.
Excellent, so there is a chance. I totally understand that it wouldn't be easy and not at all guaranteed - happy days. Step 1: Get a job in a UK theme park Step 2: Learn French Step 3: Work full time at DLRP Step 4: America ;D Thanks for the advice!
OR.. Step 1: Get a job in UK theme park Step 2: Apply to wdw through Yummy Jobs Step 3: America ;D Saves you the hassle of learning French and what more, WORKING with the French.. Not always a pleasure, I can tell you!
