Sorry for posting yet another new topic, naughty spammer!

I've just had a response from Michele at YummyJobs, apparently I'm unsuitable as they want people with more experience in Hospitality etc. That's fair enough, but I do have to say I am slightly upset about it. Oh well. Have to get myself into a restaurant or something and try again for next year perhaps. Anyone else had this problem? I'd read about people with no past experience getting in, and I don't quiiite understand. :(

Just wondering how I would go about applying for the Paris programmes? I thought about it last night, but couldn't find any information about it online. I've seen a few threads on here about it, so I figured here would be a good place to start. Still gonna need to do some Hospitality training though I guess.

I haven't got a clue. I guess I must've applied late since I only sent off my application a few days ago, plus I didn't have any experience in Hospitality, so perhaps they've had a surge of interest lately that they only want people who have the relevant experience? No matter. :)

Oooh, I love that link! I definitely have to apply there after my program if my other option fails me! I don't speak french, but I'm interested in learning and I understand you don't have to if you're a parade performer :D

  6. Unfortunately I have heard some bad things about working for Paris. Someone I know went and performed as Tinkerbell and Ariel in the parades and hated it so much that she left after 3 weeks.

There's always someone who doesn't like it though! There's a lot of people who doesn't even last a week in Disney World either! But you can't tell until you've tried yourself! I guess it has a lot to do with your own expectations...

  8. a friend of mine was trying to get employment at Disneyland Paris....but they were really fussy about the language thing.

her mum spoke fluent french and she'd studied french as part of her degree (so was as good a fluent) but they didn't have because her french wasn't good enough! she passed all the interviews but failed the language test.

if your french is good enough i think it would be really good (they have a really good Pirate of Carribean)!

    good luck anyway!

I guess that varies from what position you apply on! I can understand that they're fussy about the language part as long as it's a position with guest interaction, because most of the guests is bound to be french and expect to get help in their own language...

I may be being totally patronising here and I apologise if that's the case. Just checking you didn't apply (on purpose or accidently) for the Hospitality grad programme? Cause I know for that you have to be enrolled on a hospitality/tourism/leisure degree course or have so many years experience in the industry...
Make sure yummy know what you're applying for. You don't need any experience for the ICP or CRP - unless perhaps, as you say, they may have a huge surge of interest.. I'd be suprised though becasue they could always put you in merch on CRP or loads of other jobs on the ICP like character attendant, costuming, which aren't so much hospitality...

    Good luck! xx
