Packing!

I don't leave until June 20, so this may sound a little eager, but does anyone have any ideas for things to pack! I'm happy that the "pack" said to bring an alarm clock and someone had posted that or I would have definitely forgotten. I know there are things we can get down there and we have to bring our own linens, etc. but I was wondering if anyone can think of anything else we may need that could be easily forgotten!

I am excited to start packing soon.... it's not soon enough, but I still can't wait!!!!!

There's a little checklist on this site which is pretty useful. I'm just afraid I'm going to forget something like a pair of shoes that I really love which would annoy my mother cause I'd bug her until she mailed them down. ;D Best thing is, if you forget anything like that, get your parents to send it down with me in July!

 

I asked an alumni what's someting they didnt bring that they wish they had, she answered "A canadian flag." Appropriately, a friend of mine got me this HUUUGE 6" Canadian flag so I'll definatly be taking that.
It'll come in handy when I see Hedley live or anything else Canadian.

I'll suggest you to use it,
and make your own at the sime time while having a look to your closet and all your stuff!!!
In case of doubt ask yourself: "would I REALLY use this???"
If the answer is NO just leave it at home!!!
So u can take some more useful things like one extra jumper!!

 

hhhmmm flags...do i take the lion rampant or the saltire...BOTH!!! its cool cos now i work in a shop that does all sorts of cool tourist gifts..very cheaply!! oohhh i'll have to remember a rugby shirt...i lost my last one

 

Aside from the IMPORTANT stuff on the list......

I have been COLLECTING CANADIAN STUFF!! I have some COOL t-shirts and flags and buttons and pins.....little stuff that pack well!!
I have also decided that a set of towels is coming with me!! We will need them anyways and what better thing to bring with me?? I am going to bring a fitted sheet and a top sheet as well to sleep on the very first night!!

As for anything else.......SHOP TILL I DROP!!! ;D ;D

 

Hey Ana, yeah I will have to remember a rugby shirt too, I only have a fleece and I think that will be staying at home ;D

 

i would have definitely forgotten a flag! i'll have to get one for newfoundland and one for canada! i was going to bring a couple fun things from newfoundland too. i feel like i need to take everything with me since we are going to be gone a full year! i don't think it will all fit.... haha!

what are you guys doing about blankets and stuff? i bought some bedsheets/linens already, but should i bring a warm blanket or a duvet/comforter, etc?

 

Might want to bring a PUFFIN and forgo the SCREETCH!! ;D ;D

I am going to buy pillows and things like THAT down there!! Sheets and towels are coming with me!!

Which flags do I BRING?? NOVA SCOTIA or NEWFOUNDLAND?? I have BOTH in the bloodlines and will be leaving from NOVA SCOTIA!! HAHAH

i bought a canadian flag... and i also managed to find a giant beach towel with a pic of the flag on it too! you'll spot me on the beach in no time with that baby

 

ooo im well gonna go out and buy a scotland flag to take with me for my wall ... woo yeah!! and some irn bru has to come , i cant live with out my irn bru ... gonna get my friends to post me bottles!!

 

If u could bring me some irn bru 2 i would be forever grateful!!!

I think it depends on when you'll arrive...
if you'll arrive during summer forget about it...
you'll buy it when you're gonna need it!!!
they're not so expensive!
I'm taking some bed sheets, and, if I can, my pillow...
...I can't sleep without it...
and it's not provided unless you buy the Disney pack!

sow we have to bring our own pillow? if not we can buy a disney pack over there? do u also know how much the pack is going to be and whats all in it?

 

If I recall correctly from the interview, the pack costs $50. It contains, pillow, linens etc. and a couple of towels.

Assuming it's the same pack we used to get for free), I'd say it's def. not worth $50. You'll be wanting to buy your own as soon as you get to Walmart. So I'd def. take a sheet etc. with you if you can, for the first night. :-\
