Hey guys I thought Id set this up to see what everyone is gonna bring with them, other than the usual stuff Is anyone bringing a coat? Ive got a fleecy thing and a kagool but I dont know whether to go buy a proper coat in case its cold We dont get to go to Walmart till our 2nd day do we? I really dont know what to do about food for when we get there and for the next morning - im thinking of packing some porridge oats in my case so ive at least got something I can make for breakfast Anyone got any suggesstions? Izzy xx
Bring a big coat! And a hat, scarf and gloves! Its so cold in the evening now, altho you guys will probably think its quite warm as your not used to the heat!
u get breakfast in the morning at the clubhouse - but thats the only time they'll give u something for free! dont worry about food for when u get there. wen u go to ur apartments, ur housemates will let you have some of their food till you get some. food is actually the last thing on ur mind when u arrive. it seriously is. the breakfast u get as well, make sure u eat loads! theres loads of it there and ur in the clubhouse for ages, and its sooooooooooooooo boring! signing ur life away on like a million documents! traditions too is also extremely, painfully boring. wen u do fall asleep, make sure they cnt see ur closed eyes. lol
OOoh I'd forgotten about the breakfast they give- its really nice- fruit, pastries stuff like that! Mmmmmmmmmmmm But definitely bring some warm clothes- we are freezing out here- though like Chris says you might not feel it so badly since you won't be so used to it! I'm now in jeans and big fleecy jumpers if we go out at night! Brrrrr Looking forward to meeting all the newbies in just over 2 weeks- will be sad to no longer be newbies :-\! Charlie xx
Well, considering I am walking through 6 and 7 inches of snow when I go outside, and its like - 12 right now, I don't thinkI'm gonna be bringing anything fleece when I go down there...
I think Im just going to bring a jumper and jacket not a big coat, coz its freezin here white frost every morn at the mo - and I never wear a coat on a night out - well i'am from the north east hehe Helen xx
Hello from wintery Canada!!.......well Ontario anyway. Just thought I'd let you all know who's interested, that you will want a coat!! It gets COLD down there in the winter. For those Canadians reading this board, during work, you girls will want to wear the culots instead of the shorts. But be sure to buy a few pairs of nylons to wear underneath, and socks overtop.......especially if you're working merchandise out on the cart!! There were nights were I had the black turtleneck on, the red and black checkered shirt, nylons and socks and culots, a scarf, gloves, and our great warm lumberjack jacket. Yes, you will look very stupid, but it will keep you VERY warm. I'm not kidding!!! It does get cold, so dress as warmly as possible. Another thing you can do to keep warm if you're on glow, is to dance around to our band "Off Kilter". Me and the gang that I worked with did that often, and it's also a lot of fun and extra entertainment for the guests. You get a lot of smiles!! Jacqueline
today was the first day that i had to wear the lumberjack jacket......it was so cold...and iv only been here 2 months and im wishing i had my helly hansen snowboard jacket.......so the other day i went and bought a new winter coat for down here. on the packign front....dont pack too much. i came down with 3 suitcases a duffle bag a big toat bag and random bags of stuff....an di have too much ....when my parents visit im sending home alot with them
If I need a big winter coat, I'm just going to get one over there no point packing one it will take to much space!! we are only allowed 2 cases each 24kg don't know how I'm going to manage that!! Helen xx
i actually hasd to buy a scarf and gloves the other day cos it was so bloody cold - and i cannot understand why they still have the air con verywhere u go??! ;D
