I have receieved the package from disney. On the page about Linens, it mentions "FITTED SHEET"&"FLAT SHEET" What Are they ? What are the differences between the two.?(It seems that the size is quite large)

    Hi Winnie,

A fitted sheet is one that usually has an elastic and goes directly on your mattress...sometimes people call it the bottom sheet because it is what you sleep on.

A flat sheet goes on top and you tuck the bottom part in and can then sleep in between the two.

I'm not sure about the sizes given, since I don't leave until the fall and haven't gotten my package yet.

Hope this clears up some confusion though!!!

    Charlene

    PS....Congrats on getting your package!

    Hi Winnie,

People often use the flat sheet as a cover when it's warm, instead of having a quilt or comforter on top of them.

You could just bring the fitted sheet...but you would still want something to put over yourself at night.

From what I've read, there are a lot of people that will be buying their sheets and things at the Wal Mart nearby...you might want to check out the messages under "bedding"...maybe that will give you some more ideas!!

    Good luck

Basically in the States they don't really use duvets (I think- certainly not in Florida usually) like we do. Instead (more like posh hotels over here) they have a fitted sheet- just fits over the mattress and you lie on top of it. then you have a flat sheet -which is a lot larger-which gets folded over the bed and tucked in the corners and stuff, and you lie underneath this. Then on top of that, you can have a comforter (pretty patterns) which makes it look prettier, and keeps you a little warmer, and if you get cold you can have a blanket as well.
Hope this helps a bit? ???

    hey guys,

well just got a reply from Alexis and she said that we just need to take a bottom sheet and a top sheet for the first night coz on our second day we'll get taken to Walmart to buy stuff!

she said a letter will be sent out with our tickets clarifying everything!

    hope that helps x

I always thought a flat sheet and a fitted sheet were the same thing...but one has elasticated corners so you don't have to worry about 'hospital corners'......I'm confused!!

and I'm going to really miss having a duvet!! :'( Stupid blankets and sheet and stuff!!!

Haha i know what you mean Ellen those stupid hospital corners nope a fitted sheet is the one that goes underneath you and is fitted onto the mattress and a flat sheet is the one that goes on-top of you. God knows how all this stuff we are supposed to bring is going to fit in a suitcase!

actually, that's a good idea....clean them, and leave them for the next person to use for their first night there, or until they can get their own! Saving space and helping the newbies!
