Just wondering, do they put you with people in the same room/appartment who start on the same day!? and do they put us in touch with our roomies before we go!?

 

I have no idea, but I would really like to know. Anyone???

I have emailed Jason and asked him to put me in touch with any1 else on my flight! would be nice to be able to get to know each other before go! its a long flight on ya own!

 

Ive talked to a girl who was there for a couple of years ago, before the trip over to florida everyone got each ones phone number, so that they can get in touch before the get there, if its like that now i dont know

 

funny u should say that, i emailed Alexis and asked her for contact details of people flying same day, she emailed back saying she couldnt do that as dont have permission rights but has sent them all a group email with my email address so they can get in touch with me if they wish.

Gem I am sure Hannah and Stephen are flying same day as u but not sure where from, I can pass on ur details to them if u like?!

 

actually they are both from london so will prob both be flying from there!

 

hmm. well i think she was there 2000-2001, so maybe the rules have changed, hehe

 

yeah Jess is right they can not give anyones details out but will pass yours on to ppl who are leaving the same day as you, but for the apartment sharing thing you have to wait till ta get there coz they try and put ppl from diff countries together.

i know of an italian going on same day as me!

just think it would be cool to get to know each other just a little bit first!

 

this might sound an odd question but one of my questions in my inteview was what would i take as a present from my country to give to my room mate and i was just wondering if i should actually take a present for my room mats as i dont want to seem mean if i dont bring one but i dont want to make them feel uncomfortable if i do and am not meant to. what are we meant to do?

ah guys - i remember being in your situation - so aprehensive and no one seemed to have any answers - il try and help u out!!

ok seriuously u dont need to bring anything for any roommates - believe me they will be excited enough at the thought of a new face in the house.

u wont find out where ur living etc till u arrive at the commons and u will be given your key and that will be it - u will be left on your own and u will be scared - HOWEVER the uk ppl will be on hand!!

i can almost gurantee that there will be some uk ppl waiting for the bus to arrive to help the newbies - there was when i arrived - somone will grab a case and introduce u to the place give u a quick tour and tell u a bit about stuff - take u to your appartment etc - its very daunting but ALL of the uk ppl are lovely and all they will want to do is help u out - at the end of the day we were all new once and were al in exactly the same situation - as i said these boards are a great way of finding out info and seriuosly if u have any qustions then ask away - as one of the managers ALWAYS says to me at work no question is a stupid question - he quite often says that to me whicch shows i ask alot of questions lol

izzy and helen i think charlotte is an am shift so she will be your greeter - i think - i dont no what im working but if she cant and i can ill do it!! -we shall see? ???

 

Don't steal my thunder! I want to be the bus greeter, its not nice getting off the bus with 2 huge cases, being given your key then just standing the becasue its dark and you have no idea where your block is!

 

well chris its al up to u because im working yet another PM - 10 days straight im not happy lol ;D

 

oh well Kelly never mind we will see ya at some point I'm sure!! ;D
