    Hey,
I'm just wondering as a Cultural Rep. are there any other oppertunities you can volunteer for? Parades, tour guides maybe, choirs?
I'm mainly just wondering if anyone has ever gotten to be an "unsuspecting audience member" in the Indiana Jones stunt show???? Cuz like...that's my dream :p

You can volunteer with VoluntEARS and Give Kids the World. There is info I've posted somewhere else on here recently, I'll have a look.

CRPS can't do parades and such like because of visas, sadly (unlike ICPs). I guess you might be able to do it if you were willing not to be paid and could manage to organise it yourself, perhaps through a manager, but there was nothing structured I saw to do it voluntarily.

And yes...being an unsuspecting audience member would be nice. Or in the Hot Seat at WWTBAM! Problem with that is that whilst you can play as a CM, CMs who get into the hot seat have to turn it down :(. I never got there anyway...3rd was my highest...

Oh thanks!! That's really helpful, I'd love to do VoluntEARS and I wouldnt mind not being paid in a parade, still be fun either way!
    As for WWTBAM...FUN!

  4. Yeah, I'm hoping to VoluntEARS with the Make a Wish foundation...
I can't wait to play WWTBAM! Too much fun :)

I really want to do VolunEARS, that would be an amazing experience in itself! And I'm totally up for being in a parade unpaid!!! How much fun would that be!?!

Erm, I meant Parade Audience Control, rather than being in a parade...hehe.

But being in a parade would be uber-fantastic. Sadly unlikely :(

I'd do crowd control, that'd be fun too even if it was unpaid.

My uncle was an "unsuspecting audience member", evil person got to take part in the show - stuff like that happens to him all the time :( Its not fair.

I'm looking forward to taking part in VoluntEARS :D

Hehe...I think it's rare that anyone gets in by *actually* knowing the answers!

Yeah, it would be gutting to turn it down! Never saw it happen...

I was in Canadian Merch. and Attractions from March 2004-2005 and we got to do "Crowd Control" over at the American Pavilion for the singing group "American Vibe" who pretty much plays there daily. Me and my friend Kelly went over about four times a week or so. Thought it would be a nice change to Merch. and Attractions, but it kinda sucked! We had to wear our Canadian Costumes still, so we had a ton of people asking us why we were working in the American Pavilion when we were Canadian. We got paid for it, but I wouldn't do it again. Plus you hear the same songs over and over and over and over again for days. By the end of my stint, I was singing every song along with them. I would have rather stayed to do merch and attractions back at my pavilion. But there was a plus side too. We could still talk to people about our great country, and we got invited to have our picture taken with American Vybe and the manager made a blown up copy for us as a memory. Also, if you're in Merch and Attractions (which I understand have been separated now, so I'm not sure if this will still apply), at Christmas, you got to be in a show to light the EPCOT Christmas tree at 6:00p.m. daily. They would make a schedule for you and for the month of December, you would either be in the show or do crowd control. You usually had four turns. Each character (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale) enters onto the stage with two Internationals, and you get to dance and sing and act. It's a lot of fun!! Taller people generally get to go with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and shorter people with Donald, Chip, and Dale. It's all part of the stage set-up. You also get to ride the character bus with the characters and wave and say Merry Christmas to everyone as you go along! I'm not sure if they did it this past year or not. But we had a blast in 2004!! After one of the shows when I went back to work at the Pavilion, I even had a family recognize me from the show!! So keep your eyes and ears open for any oportunities!! If there's hurricane warnings as we had three hurricanes alone when I was down, you can help to volounteer to clean up and do "ride-outs" at the resorts. It's just a matter of what is happening while you're down there!! Hope this helps you out a bit!! Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!
