Hi Guys, Im on contract with O2 until next august but I go to disney in feb, the girl at the O2 shop wasnt very helpful and just said the only thing I could do would be the pay the whole thing off before I go :s I'm going to ring customer services and see if they would be willing to suspense it or something? Just wondered if anyone esle was having problems and if anyone knew a way I could get out of paying a massive sum
I've got the same problem myself, the man I spoke to said I either had to stick with it, buy out the remainder of the contract or find someone to take it over, which obviously is not gonna happen. Someone on here came up with the idea of buying out the contract and then selling the phone (ebay, many of those phone recycling companies etc.) to help towards the cost. I know thats not really a great help but it's a tricky one with phones, the companies are generally not willing to help you out at all. Anyway, hope you get it sorted ok. xxx
Okay, I'm not with O2, so I'm not sure, but what I'd suggest is, if you don't want to pay your contract off in full is, lower the tariff to the cheapest amount possible, and continue to pay monthly. That way, you can use it in emergencies, and people from back home can still contact you. Another suggestion is, offering if anyone else wants to take over your contract. I saw someone on facebook, a while back, offering his contract. The person taking over can change the number etc, so that's not a problem. But yeah, I'd definitely ring O2 up. Some people in these shops are pretty useless, from my experience.
same here! but i only have about 2/3 month left when i go, so im gonna pay mine off , then sell the blackberry, then out there im gonna buy a new blackberry from virgin mobile america, for $200. and you can get a plan from them, its basicly PAYG so u top up $35 each month, but for that, you get 300 mins call time, unlimited internet, emails, texts, and all of the RIM services (bbm, push email, apps etc) or if you just want a cheaper phone you can get the same plan minus the RIM services(300mins unlimited txts, email, internet) for $25 a month! just thought id pass on this info as i thought it was a great price
