We had a couple of people who wanted to change when I was down. They couldn't because we were all full in Merchandis and Attractions....it doesn't mean you can't try, but it may not work. Talk to your manager(s) once you get there. Jacqueline
I'm exactly the same, i had my heart set on merch and am really worried i wont enjoy my time there as much as wont like the job!
I'm sorta in the same situation. If I dont get attractions, I'm not sure if I'll accept! I really really really really really want to get attractions! *sigh*
They could have me ripping tickets for all I care, as long as I get to work for the mouse, and have some good stories at the end of the day, I'll be happy Chase
Listen to Emma!! STAY IN FOOD AND BEV!!!!! Trust me, you wont regret it when you get into service. No offence to any merchies reading this but food is so much better!! LIke Emma said, its very fast paced, and we do work very hard but we get a lot of money for it and its worth it!! So stick with food, Id never done any work to do with food before coming here so dont wory about that!!! Michelle

well from someone that is yet to be accepted i'd be happy with anything the mouse was to give me just to have the chance to work at disney and in floridawith all you amazing people and after all its only for a year!! but anyway well done for getting in and i wish you all the best in your time over there
I'm going to echo the others and suggest you give f&b a shot. Merch was my first choice and I was put into f&b. This is pretty common as, at least for the Canada Pavilion, there are more positions in f&b. F&B still gives you the chance to be outside and there are lots of different positions with which to occupy yourself. There is variety with merchandise as there are multiple shops, but essentially it's kind of all the same. F&B does have variety, which is something I appreciate! And, as you will find out soon enough, tips are a WONDERFUL thing once you realise how, uh, limiting the wage here is! ~ Jen PS: I am NOT knocking merch, as I said it was my first choice, and you can still have loads of fun on a tip-less paycheque, but it's kind of nice knowing that maybe five - six months down the road you paycheques are going to triple, quadruple, whatever.

Jess, just wanted to say big congratulations!!!! ;D I remember you asking me on here a long time ago about the cruise job after you had hopefully done your year on the International Program! So finally you've made it! You must be so happy! Congrats to everyone who's just been accepted. You're about to begin the best year of your life!!! I was just at a Disney reunion last weekend. Yes, we're still having them 3 years later!!! All we did was talk about how good our lives were out there! I'm actually thinking about going back to the ship I miss it all so much!!! seriuosly guys ill add to what emma and michele said - stick to f&b - ive jus gone into service 2 weeks ago and its great - not to mention the amount of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - LOVE IT ;D
Definitely! F&B is great! I really couldn't decide before the interview- literally I was sitting in the pub waiting for my interview that afternoon before I decided! I had some qualms about it before I came out thinking I'd made the wrong decision, but I know I didn't now! I absolutely love it in f&b. Maybe I'd have loved it in merch too, I'll never know But you meet so many cast members just through work-in merch its necessary to make an effort (like going to lads/lasses- GO whoever you are its so much fun) And theres always something to be doing Truly- I'm lovin' it Charlotte x
