So only a month away until we can send our resumes in to an international battle, Did anyone who has applied before give them a letter of recomendation? Because my Manager at starbucks is wickedly cool so she would deffinatly help me out! Also what format should we send it in, cause i dnt wanna send my dam resume and then i get rejected all be cause of a stupid computer problem!! Cheers Jordan
I am sure a letter would not hurt. I know I had a little extra thing added to mine. So it would not hurt. They will take it and who knows it might bump your chances. And as for sending the stuff I sent mine as a plain text word file cause I wanted to make sure they would get it. You can always call or even e-mail them a few days later to make sure they got it. (I called like 2 hours later and ended up having my phone interview right there. It was crazy. But then again it was my second time applying so I the phone interview was extremely easy the second time around.) (You can also fax it to them too. Not sure what country your from but if your applying with Yummy and fax it, e-mail them after then they will let you know if it made it through ok. Yummy seems to be very fast at replying with things. I love it. )
Cheers, ye i think il send it to them, then call them, and im from England, Manchester, but i moved to Canada when i was sixteen so i gotta apply as a uk rep, but hae my interviews and stuff over here!
That will be interesting. I think I remember reading you posting that before. Let us know how that goes.
I getting quite excited now. I have my CV and Cover letter about 90% complete which has already been proof read from a careers adviser. I read elsewhere on here that Yummy Jobs do not refrences/ recomendations from employers as they're not interested in that? Is that not the case Also when i emailed Michele (UK rep) she said that when applying in Juy that we need to quote F09. I'm guessing that means that anyone applying next month will be going in Feburary 09 if accepted
At the interview they did ask us to write down all the names of our previous employers and their addresses, so its useful to keep them handy. However they never actually contacted mine for a reference.
Yeah, they weren't very picky about having a complete contact list. My only "work experience" has been as a summer research student and as President of my Inter-Residence Council (IRC). Since we didn't have an adviser, technically I was my boss. They didn't care that I didn't have anyone they could contact.
I now cannot wait to apply ... i have a job interview for office work on fri and a bank next week :'( altho they'll be good for earning pennies this is the only job i want so even if i get rejected before the phone interview although i'll be gutted i might be more motivated to look for a decent job. so yeah rant over and roll on July 1st xx
