After recieving my Disney Package, sending in my application for The University of North Carolina, getting the aceptance letter for the J-1 Academic Program for August 19th from Yummy Jobs, getting a phone call from Yummy Jobs telling me I had been accepted, buying my plane tickets, buying my conduct of good behaviour... and so on... and so on.. After all that I get an email from UNCG today, telling me I was never accepted, they told Disney I wasn't accepted, but they never told me or Yummy Jobs or my school. UNCG just says they don't have an agreement with my school, when Yummy Jobs told me UNCG did speak to my school and made an agreement with them. I'm already regretting the extremely angry letter I wrote UNCG just now, but I'm sooooo angry. I'm off to Mexico for a 16-day holiday tomorrow, how the hell am I supposed to actually enjoy my holiday, all I'm probably gonna be able to think about is this. On top of all that I signed out of my uni for next year, so I won't be able to even attend my own school, I've quit my job... what the hell am I going to do. I've got it all in writing, the acceptance and everything... Anyone got any advice for me? Has anyone dealt with the same problem? *rant over*

i dnt know if this is possible, cos i dnt know ANYTHING about the academic programs, bt is there any chance u can get another university?? I am so sorry for you- BIG virtual hug. x
If you have the letters from Disney yo can show them as to prove the misunderstanding, expose to Intl. recruitment your case, maybe you can save your year by going to the international program or some other, I know that besides Grensboro, they have agreements with MSU and UCF, or even if you dont get the academic credit Intl. recruitmenyt can help you to find a spot for the CRP. That's something and they owe you at least that chance. RUBEN!

I don't think I'll be able to get another university to send me to Disney, CMU didn't accept me because of the course I'm taking (English Teaching), I was told the only other option for me was UNCG, since they are the only ones who accept people who are doing an English Teaching course. I can't apply for the CRP either, or any other program for that matter, the only program people from Holland can apply for is the J1-Academic or the Graduate Program, but since I'm not graduating yet I can't do that one. I will email Disney, UNCG and Yummy Jobs though... I'm not giving up that easily.
that is ridiculous, you should def send copies of all your stuff off and ask for compensation for the money you have spent, how can they mess up so badly?
Thanks for the support people! Just got an email from UNCG, they're probably going to make an exception for me, since they normally don't accept students who are doing an English Teaching course. Which is a bit odd because Yummy told me this was the only uni I could apply to because none of the others accepted English Teaching students. Still a bit confused... *fingers crossed though* UNCG and Yummy Jobs are both confused as to what went wrong communication wise... oh well, as long as there's still hope I'm happy. *fingers crossed now* Just faxed my application forms for UNCG to America.
hey there..i was just reading through this not looking at the date assuming it was old and expected it to come to a conclusion and when it came to the end i was like noooo i wanted to know that it all worked out ok for you and that they let you go anyway!! so i hope it does!
