Hi everyone Im completely new to this! (first post!) Ive wanted to work in Disney/Epcot since i was 13 years old. Ive always had ties (like relationships, courses, jobs) that have stopped me applying. Now at 25yrs old there is nothing to stop me ! Â I wont be able to go until Feb/March 2006, so when is the best time to apply? Im not too old to apply am i ? Any other advice would be great. thank you xx
hey welcome to the boards. if you want to start early 2006 you need to apply staright away so you can have the phone interview before the face to face interviews happen in november! and no from what i understand you are definitely not too old! Good luck with your application, keep us informed oh how it goes!
As Jess said, apply as soon as possible if you want to go around March, and you are def. not too old! Good luck! Marco
Hey don't worry about your age, I'll turn 24 while over at Disney and there are older people than me so you will be fine. Helen x
Thanks for all your replies and advice. Just a couple of questions: do i have to email my CV or can i post it? Im a bit of a nightmare with emailing and always end up losing the attachments! ;D Also do you have to go for a year or can you do it for 6 months?.
Thanks guys. Sorry for being such a ditzy blonde but i was wondering if anyone can answer a few more questions? ;D Do i have to fill in that application form under 'how to apply' or do i just email a cover letter and my CV to yummy jobs? And if i didnt make it to the November interviews but got an interview in February, when do think those succesful would fly out? would it be end of summer 2006 or later in the year? or even 2007? Well done to all of you who have got in and good luck to you all who have interviews. Maybe i'll see you out there (fingers crossed!) thank u xxxx
The how to apply on this site is just a guide, it's not run my yummy or anything, this is a completely unofficial site, so just email yummy with your CV and cover letter. I don't know when the november people would be flying out, but there seems to be about a six month turnover between interview success and flying (this is only approximate so don't take that as set in stone). If you got through the feburary interviews, chances are you would fly out in September of that year. That's how it worked with this years febuary interviews anyway. There have been some exceptions, with the anniversary celebrations going on they've needed people at different times, so a few went in June and some are going in october/december, but I think that depends on what country you are from. The bulk of the Feb UKers are going in September on various dates (I think right now the dates are the 6th, 13th and 20th).
Hey Nat... First off, you're definately not too old. Â I'm 27 and I'm here now. Second, if Yummy has an online application, I would use it. Â I used the online application for Cast-A-Way (in Canada) and then emailed one of the recruiters a few days later just to confirm that they had received my application and to let them know exactly what I was applying for. Â But, definately apply now. Â The fall interviews will most likely have departure dates in the spring/summer 2006. Â I applied in July of last year, had my interview in October, but didn't arrive until June. Â Those from Canada that interviewed this past March are arriving in September and December. Â I'm sure arrival dates change, but that's how it's been for the last year anyway. Good Luck, Sandra
Hey Nat, I was interviewed in the U.K in feb and I don't fly out till Dec!! I think It just depends on how much availability they have on departure dates. This is just my opinion so dont know if it is correct but if you get through to the nov interviews and get the job I would expect you to fly out march or june, then if you get to the feb interviews and get the job it might be departing in sept or dec. Hope that helps. Helen x
Hi Nat How you doing? I applied through yummy jobs they have a mini online application form, which is really easy to attach your cv too, i would apply online as emails don't get lost as easly as letters do, not saying they are disorginised but yopu know what i mean. They sent me back a generic letter saying they had recieved my email and would get back to me in 8-10 weeks. Three weeks later i had my phone interview and yesterday i recieved my letter saying i was through to the final interviews. IF i pass i will go in March, i first applied in July 05. i hope this helps, Amy
