Hi Everyone My name is Lee and i'm 20 years old. I found this forum after a search to do the Cultural Representative Program in Orlando. Like most of you i'm sure are interested in working for Disney on this program. I've contacted Yummy Jobs who have told me that they are acepting applications from July 1st. Basiclly my background is that i left school at 16 with my GCSE's. Mainly grades B-C with 1 D grade. But since 2003 i have been working in the same establishment of a restaurant in the English countryside which has a french feel. It's a very highly respected place with ''Michelin'', and 'Which Food'' awards Over the 5 years at this establishment, i've learnt some French and have worked in pretty much all the roles of the place from everything like Washing up before becoming a chef's assistant. Now i work in the front of house where i am the barman. It also requires me to deal with consumers, take orders and reservations and well as serving the food to the consumers. With a Huge love for Disney, i feel that i'm going to use my experience on the Disney Programe. Could my Experince be something that will interest Disney? Should i include a Refrence from my current employer? Is there anything i could add to help my chnaces or anything that could hold me back? I probably won't be accepted and i'm very nervous about the process but any help is appricated Thanks Lee
hey. i'm applying for CRP this year too (i'm from Canada though) anyway you don't have to include any references when applying. you just send in your CV and resume. the main thing that Disney is interested in is a love for Disney, a positive attitude and customer service experience. so in your CV just include a brief and concise summary of your work experience and why you want to do the program. oh and having knowledge of your country is good too cuz as a CRP you're at Disney representing your country and it's culture. anyways i hope this helped...good luck ;D
Thanks for your reply. Like i said, i doubt i'll get accepted but i'm going to give it my best effort
yeah you might as well. you don't have anything to lose right? and if you don't get accepted they give you advise on what you can do if you were to apply again.
I've now written a Cover Letter and CV which is probably 80% complete. I've emailed it to my local careers office and they are going to read over it and see how i can improve it. In the cover letter i've given a nice description about my outgoing/ fun personality and touched on a few skills. Then in the main CV i've written everything else. I'm going to add a little Voluntary/ Charity work i've done where i've worked too. Hopefully, after working in a French restaurant for the last 5 years that has provided me with more than enough experience with customers and learning about french culture to impress disney
