    Hey everyone,

I was just wondering some of your guys' opinions on what I should do. I am currently in the process for the next go round for Canadians in the CRP at Epcot (I've had my phone and waiting to hear back about in person interview). Anyways I need a job and have I yet to get one after several weeks of applying. Anyways one place I am thinking of working that would probably hire me is the local liquor store. I am legal age for Alberta (18), and I was just wondering if it is smart to work at a liquor store?? Im just not sure how will it looks and if its any problem (worry about people under 21 drinking in Florida). Anyways please help me out with what you guys think. I have asked my family but I figured better to ask people that are going through what i am. Thanks!

Well if this is a new job it won't be on the CV you applied with right? lol
But I doubt it'll be a problem anyway. If you get asked about how you feel about not being able to drink just let them know that you're aware of the rules and consequences and that you're of course going to follow them (although I've heard alot of under 21's don't lol)

And it could look like good experience serving alcohol if you want to do f & b... though I don't know the age to serve in florida.

You have to be 21 to serve alcohol in the states. But any kind of job experience is good to have.

You DON'T have to be 21 to serve alcohol in Florida! You have to be 18 ;)

working in an alcohol store shows you're a responsible, trustworthy and mature person. it proves that your employees have trust in you, and that you've got the ability to enforce the laws on drinking, eg. underage drinking, moderation drinking. it would look good an a cv. good luck with your application.

I agree with everyone. It is a good idea. Almost any job is... Almost. But liquor store is fine. Like others said it shows your responsible. It has some customer service and shows you can work with cash and all that kind of stuff. If you get a job in the F&B area of Canada you will not only be selling beer but serving it as well. So I would not see a problem in it.

Oh wow I didn't know that! That's kind of weird that you don't have to be of age to serve alcohol...I guess it's just cuz here you have to be. Oh well that opens up the job market for ppl so that's good :D

Ontario is the same, you can serve at 18 but can't drink until 19
