You can add CRB Check to your list, and a 'Check-In' ($70?) fee for housing.

I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find my list of prices!

The Canadian information I got the other day at my F2F lists all of this. Don't know if it's complete or not (or even the same for UK) but should give you a rough idea.

    Pre-Departure
    $100 Visa Applcation *
    $0 - $500 Visa reciprocity fee
    $500 - $2000 Airfare
    $130 - $200 Medical Insurance
Also, any transportation or postal fees required to secure a visa.

    * Varies by country

    Post-Arrival
    $72 Program Assessment Fee
$69-$87 First week's Rent (we were also told rent is getting raised in December to I think $72-$90 a week)
    $50-$100 Groceries for 1-2 weeks
$30 - $50 Work shoes to be purchased after arrival

You will recieve your first paycheck approximately two weeks after your arrival. Therefore, you should bring money to cover incidental charges and initial living expenses. You should bring U.S. $300 - $500.

Now all of that except for infortmation in brackets is a direct quote, and as such I don't have much more information on any of it.

Oh yeah and all values were US Dollars.

  6. wierd! Jorden it seems SO much has changed since my F2F in November...
We didn't have to pay anything for our visa.
I paid $260CAD for my one-way airfare, $260CAD for 4 months medical insurance and $72USD for the assessment fee (that must be paid pre-departure now...)
But thats all it's cost me, all I need now is to bring money for my first weeks rent, my first few weeks food and work shoes.

Really not all that much money is needed, which is really great!

hey Jilly as far as I know it is around £45 for CRB, £60 for Visa and then insurance and flights on top of that...just depends on what insurance you are taking out and obviously when you go for the flights.

Not sure about what you need for when your over there tho

Looking forward to meeting you hunni

how does the insurance work? i have extended health coverage with alberta blue cross, which i believe includes medical exspenses incurred while travelling so would i be covered or is it something else that you have to buy?

did they have any info on what they expeected the financial situation to end up like based on average credits and debits for the program? like how much you'll lose or make when its all done?

im prett sure that the program assesment fee is just a general administrative fee that you pay upon arrival and is used to cover things like costs incurred by room assignments and that kind of thing.

  13. you actually have to pay the assessment fee before you arrive now...they changed it

does anybody know if castaway will send any of this information before you come to the interview... it would be a shame to drop money on flights to go to an interview to find out they tell you something that would prohibit you from going.

Nope they pretty much tell you at the interview. Everything I lised above was from the Montreal interview 2 days ago (except Tessa had some ammendments as she's allready been excepted).
