Hi guys, I know this has kinda been touched on in another topic but I was just wondering wether people were planning to take more Cash that Travelers Cheques or less cash, more travelers cheques? I no travelers cheques are safer and can be spent just like Cash but i was thinking i could bring cash and then deposit it in my bank account when i open it? Jo x

jo i would take more TCs for sure. I have so far $400 in cash and $550 in travellors cheques, i mean if you want cash to put into a bank account u can just go to the bank and ask them to deposit that into your account anyway or get it changed over to cash in a bank, all in all a lot easier! i may get more TCs before i leave if i have any money! xxx

I would bring more TC. It's really better and you can cash them at many places. But also take some cash as there are some payments you have to make in the beginning. I brought like 500 cash and the rest TC. Julia

I had so many times were I searched through my apt. for pennys just to afford a pop after a night out lol It was a good thing they payed weekly, wouldn't have survived otherwise. Julia
tell me about it, im glad i get paid weekly at the moment, although i have a lot of taz to claim back as theyve taken £100 off me so far, the cheek! xxx
You can always get your parents to wire you money to your new bank account.....all easily done through your regular banks web site. just ask your home bank how to go about doing it....that way if you run out of money and need some family can send you some asap! Sheena
It's pretty expensive to do this though ( as for us europeans ). I had a CC for any "emergencies". And by the time my parents would have transferred the money I would have probably starved to death haha Especially since my parents don't do online banking haha Julia
