    Hey, :)

I'm from the UK and I'm wondering if anyone knows how much the year visa will cost?

Also is it just fate that some people end up on the same flights? I know that Disney won't organize group flights, so do they give you an arrival date? Is it true that Disney will pay your flight home? Or is that just too good to be true lol. :D

    Ta Ta!

    Hey,

It depends what program you are on. If you are doing the year long cultural representative program at your pavillion in Epcot then you will be travelling with people going on your day. At least for the UK this is the case.

I go on December 5th and there are at least 4 of us on my day that are letting Disney book our flights, in which case we will be on the same flight.

The visa for us is $100 so whatever that equates to in £....for me it was £57ish, but on the phone they say roughly £65 I think.

    Hope this helps.

    That helps loads, thanks!

I'm going to be doing the cultural rep one and I reeeeally didn't want to have to fly out on my own. And I read somewhere earlier that disney wouldn't organise group departures, and I thought.......eeep! :-[

But now I know they do! ;D So thats ok!

Ooooo not long now before you'll be jetting off! You must be really giddy!

Can I ask when you applied for the program? I'm hoping to go either 2008 or 2009 in summer but I'm clueless as to when to apply for if I want to leave then. Having said that I don't mind leaving in December really. Just in time for Christmas lights and jingle bells.

The person from Yummy Jobs at the interview on Monday said that they try and book it through a company, and they'll tend to get you all to fly out on the same day, and in the same area of the plane, which sounds really cool :) That's for Britain, anyway.

    Cool, thanks for that. ;D

So do you give the money for your flight to them? Or do they book the flight for you and then send you the bill?

Is it true that disney pay your flight home?

You pay for the flight out at least, but they were saying that they get quite a big discount with this company. This is for the summer programme, by the way, not sure if it works the same for the other programmes or if the discount's to do with us being students, but you'd've thought it would be :). They didn't sya anything about the flight back, but I'm sure I've read that somewhere...

It really vary's on when you apply as to when you go out...In feb it will be 2 years since I applied!! I mean thats an age! Whereas another guy who applied January had his telephone interview and face to face and was out by April of the same year...

Lucky him catching the deadline...but also I had problems that meant postponing interviews etc...but hey I got here in the end and wouldn't have wanted it any other way as I wouldn't have met some of the people I have that have become my best friends!

As for flights I know that in the presentation we had at our interview they said that they would organise your flights and then you pay for them when you get over there. Either in one lump sum or weekly out of your wages. Will let you know roughly how much mine cost when I know haha.

Some of my friends have booked their own however which means they will be flying direct and cheaper. However I've decided to let Disney sort it...way easier on my part :D

As for the college program I have no idea about flights...I was under the impression that you booked your own, but obviously have no idea coz I'm not doing that one hehe.

Anything else I can help you with just ask...:) But remember this is just what I've experienced :D

Yep, on the international college program (for uk) you have the choice of being on a group flight or make your own arangements. I'm pretty sure the group flight option is there for the cultural reps too.
