Hey just a couple of questions about money Firstly I have a Bank of Scotland account - would i be able to get my salary paid into it? Also does anyone know if i'd be able to withdraw money using it in Florida or do i have bring over cash and open one of the disney accounts? I was also wondering how much do people recommend to take over? I know Yummy suggested £200 but is that enough? If it's a whole month until u get paid? Thank you!
You won't have to wait a whole moth before you get paid! It's two weeks as you get your pay check every week! Disney usually recommend $2-400 and that was enough for me. Disney don't make payments to to non- US banks as far as I know! It'll be a lot cheaper for you to open an American account! I recommend Sun Trust or Bank of America I think it's called, not the Disney bank.
On my 1st summer program i had a vista account but on my 2nd program i didn't have a bank account and just cashed the cheques! And you get your 1st pay check 2 weeks after you start, but you will have two weeks worth of rent taken out so most people only end up with a couple of $ in their first pay check. Make sure you take enough to cover for around 3 weeks. Remeber you might need to buy correct shoes/socks/watch/sunglasses when you get there!
i know that yummy say take $200 i would say take as much as you can as you will probably spend that within the first few days. food shopping and correct shoes etc, i really don't want any one to panic and worry about money as my friends last summer really wish that they had been told to have taken more as they felt that $200 wasn't enough so please take what you can
