Okay, so who's going to get their visa on Monday? I have my appointment at 10:30am so I'm going to be getting on the train at 6:40 (oh the horror) in Birmingham New Street. Anyone travelling up then? Apparently the embassy deal is like waiting in a doctors so I imagine we'll see each other if we're all stuck waiting around for 4 hours! Also, I don't have a train back until 17:00 so if anyone wants to go for coffee or lunch after I'm game, makes the trip to london seem a little more worthwhile if I'm actually meeting people instead of just draggin myself up for that!

Hiya, I'm up for meeting for a coffee or something, but my interview isn't until 12:45, so I might get out too late to meet you?

meels - only two hours? what time was your appointment? If I could get mine finished by then that would be great, my train back isn't until 5 sp I'd be able to go round london a bit.

By the time you read this you'll probably have been and gone! But yeah it all depends on how many people are there, there were tons in when i went but still only two hours, pretty good seein as i was expectin four! Let me know how you got on.

    Hey emma,

There should be a check list on the back one of the sheets that the embassy sent. I found it really useful cos i'm rubbish at rememberin things. Have a look but if you don't have one i'll try and remember everythin i took. is that any help?

Hey Zannita, thats not bad going. were you waiting long? Did you see the police with the massive rifles? Talk about security! :D

Well, that depends on your perspective given that I left the house at 10 to 6 this morning. Rifle men scared me.

I waited about an hour and a half outside but that was more my fault then anything else - I had added extra time for all the problems with trains I usually have and then had pretty much the perfect journey meaning I was way way earlier then I should have been. Once inside they give you a number and you wait until you get called to give in your passport and documents. It's just like a doctors waiting room really. You get called for that pretty quick, the person takes your papers/passport and your fingerprint scan (into the daterbase of Super!Secrecy!) but then you have to wait for your number to be called again to actually have your 'interview' - that's the part that takes ages and ages. Also I put interview in the little inverted commas because it literally went:

Him: So your going to walt disney world huh?

    Me: Yeah

Him: What you doing there? Epcot?

Me: The Culteral Representative Program, working in the UK pavillion in epcot, yes.

Him: Ever had a visa before?

    Me: No

Him: <circling something on the paper> Okay, your visa's been approved.

It's almost anti-climatic after having such a big build up.
