Hey, I'm only going out 2 florida 4 the CP but was wonderin how many people are planning on buying a mobile when they get out there? I'm totally addicted to my mobile n think it b weird leavin the house without one - like what if i got lost of something and had 2 phone someone to come and find me!! lol total drama queen! Jo xx

Most cell phones can text back here it just depends on the company you go with. I know USCellular can. And certain plans with Sprint...prolly loads more too. Also - if you buy a calling card you can call the free 1-800 number from your cell phone <-- thats always how i called home before
Those calling cards are great arn't they chloe! Got through so many last year! Im gonna get a mobile out there too... Im gonna get advice off my american friends over what will be best contract pass as you talk. Cos i heard on some US networks pay as you talk charge u to receive calls... Not totally sure though... xxx

I managed without one last time in the states cos we had phones in our rooms. But will definately need one this time. Can u imagine one phone in a flat of 8 girls! Think i might get a years contract one... but we will see... xxx
i think im gona get one on virgin usa, they seem pretty good, my cousin who is at uni in haines city, FL uses them and he recommends them may be worth lookin at www.virginmobileusa.com as well xxx
Don't know if I'll bother- see what its like when I get out there! I always have my phone on me here, but I'd only use it to get texts out there so it depends how much! You get free calls between the Commons anyway ;D Charlotte x
Yes, the US does charge to receive calls. HOWEVER A lot of companies are now doing plans where you can call other mobile users on the same network for free any time. So I can call any of my friends that have Cingular for free! Also, there's a virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney. Check into those phones!

Yep, you have to pay for incoming calls over here...dumb I know. I just made a post in another phone topic about the plan I had with AT&T (boo!). Don't stress too much about having one phone for 8 girls. I'm pretty sure we had call waiting so you won't miss calls and if you're calling people in the Commons you'll only be on for a couple of minutes and at the times you'll want to call home...all 8 of you won't be home together anyways! I know I was only in a 4, but we never had too many issues...except the one girl calling for my chinese roommate 24/7 who lived literally across the hall and would call every 5 mins to see if she was home yet!!! She would've easily heard the door open and close!!!!!! GRRR!!! Shan
