    Hiyaaaaa!

Right I've set up a new thread thats recent for mobile phones... I'm doing this so I can look at this thread and get the most current info. What do people intend on doing over there regarding mobile phones??? If you're already there, what did you do????

I have an iPhone4 at the minute and still have bloody ages left on my contract... do I take this over there with me??

Any help will be greatly appreciated ;D

    Thanks my lovelies

That's the same problem I have... I can't part with my iPhone, I love it too much... a bit sad really... But my contract has just been renewed, so I'll change to the cheapest contract available, take the phone with my and just use it on wireless, bit of a shame really, isn't it?

I know what you mean, the iPhone is just so good that i want to be able to use it over there as my phone but I just don't know if I can in the cheapest way possible - as at the mo I'm paying £35 a month (the cheapest) and it's going to end up costing me stupid amounts to use abroad on a UK contract. eughhh

    Hey guys,

If you're locked into a UK contract, i would try to get out of it first. If that really cannot be done (I know phone companies 'lock' you into long contracts these days) then i would probably try and go down to the lowest and cheapest tier that your provider offers. Of course you will still have to pay for it while you are away, but hopefully it wont be too expensive.
My boyfriend took his iPhone from the UK and used it out in the USA. He got put on an AT&T contract, i think it was about $35-$40 a month and included minutes, texts and those all important megabytes of internet use. AT&T offer lots of packages, i would take a look on their website and see what they can offer. Beware, iPhones can be problematic when doing this, so just consider that it might not be very straightforward and you may need to refer back to Apple or your UK network provider, so best to keep contact details for them in case you run into problems changing over :)

my iphones fucked. i just had to buy a 3 qiud phone from carphone warehouse! the guy in the shop was like, apple wont fix that, it's beyond repair.
i should not be allowed to have expensive things.
